Our tour was fantastic. I did the tour together with my partner and I was happy that it was a private tour. Our guide was very kind, funny and knowledgeable and explained us the history of Korea very well, linking it to the current political situation. He also gave us general recommendations and tips for our following trip, which was very nice. The peace park itself was very nice and you could get a very clear view to North Korea. Beside us were only two smaller tourist groups, so we had no trouble seeing everything without distraction. The following lunch (we had Bibimbap) at the rice farm was fantastic. We enjoyed the Gochujang and coffee workshop and were very happy that our guide translated everything very well for us. The rice farm itself is a very unique experience, apart from the usual touristy spots. Overall the whole experience was one of the main highlights of our trip and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
This was a wonderful experience! First, we went to the Aegibong Peace Park where there is a clear view of North Korea. This was much better than the “standard“ DMZ area with a poor view and large crowds. The peace park itself has beautiful scenery and is very peaceful as the name implies. There is a Starbucks where you can literally sit and look into North Korea, which is a bit comical. We then went to a restaurant adjacent to a farm where we made chili paste and grinded coffee beans. It was a very authentic experience and you could tell that the people who worked there are very proud of what they’re doing, as they should be. The lunch was outstanding with so many fresh ingredients. Our guide was friendly and the van was impeccably clean. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting South Korea.
Our experience visiting the DMZ was unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Xander. From start to finish, he was incredibly knowledgeable, offering deep insights into the history, politics, and significance of the area that you simply wouldn’t get from a book or self-guided tour. Beyond his expertise, Xander was exceptionally kind and patient. He took the time to answer every question thoughtfully, made sure we felt comfortable and informed, and had a warm, approachable presence that made the entire day enjoyable and engaging. If you’re planning to visit the DMZ, I can’t recommend Xander enough. His professionalism, depth of knowledge, and genuine care for his guests truly set him apart. Thank you, Xander, for an incredible experience!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience with us! We’re truly delighted to hear that your visit to the DMZ was such a memorable one, and that our guide Xander made a meaningful impact on your journey. He will be so happy to hear your kind words — especially about his knowledge, patience, and warm presence. At Jung Ho Travel, we strive to create meaningful, informative, and comfortable travel experiences for every guest, and it’s rewarding to know that we met your expectations. Your recommendation means a lot to us and to Xander personally. We hope to welcome you again in Korea for another unforgettable adventure!
Chuck was an awesome guide! He picked us up at our hotel in the morning in a very comfortable vehicle for the trip out to the Aegibong Peace Ecopark, and did an excellent job on the way providing context on and answering questions about both the Korean DMZ specifically, and the relationship between North and South Korea more broadly. The DMZ area itself was very striking, you're able to use binoculars to look across the river into the North Korean town of Amsil and see the people/soldiers/buildings/etc. Hilariously, there is a Starbucks right in the observation area (which symbolizes “robust security on the Korean Peninsula through the presence of this iconic capitalist brand" per the SK gov), so you can sip a latte while you observe. After the DMZ visit, we traveled to a more rural area where we were walked through the gochujang making process, ate some delicious bibimbap, and met a cute golden retriever named Jeon Seol. Would definitely recommend this experience!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review! We’re truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed every part of the experience—from the hotel pickup and visit to Aegibong Peace Ecopark, to the gochujang-making activity. We sincerely appreciate your kind recommendation, and we’ll continue striving to provide unforgettable experiences for every guest. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future! Thank you once again.
Visiting the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone. The trip was well-organized, starting with a comfortable bus ride from Seoul to the DMZ. One of the highlights was the viewpoint where we got a clear view of North Korea, including spotting North Korean soldiers on the other side of the border. The contrast between the tension of the DMZ and the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding area was truly striking. After exploring the DMZ, we took part in a unique cooking class that added a fun and interactive twist to the day. We brewed our own coffee and learned how to make Gochujang, a traditional Korean chili paste, which we were able to take home—a perfect souvenir of this unforgettable experience. The guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and even funny, which made the complex history of the DMZ both informative and enjoyable to learn about. Overall, this tour was a perfect blend of history, culture, and nature, leaving me with a deeper understanding of Korea’s history and some amazing memories to take home. Highly recommended!
Jun was a great tour guide. Really appreciate the experience making Gochuchang and seeing N. Korea was a great experience. Thanks Jun!

Absolutely loved this tour! It was one of the most fascinating things I’ve ever experienced in my travels. Definitely recommend this if you want a different kind of DMZ tour.

Truly enjoyed this experience. The DMZ portion of the tour was so much better than what I expected from one of the "regular" tours. We had a super clear view of the North Korean village on the other side of the river, the observatory itself was beautiful and practical, with plenty of space to view across the border with binoculars or even just your bare eyes (it is that close!). The gochujang making afterwards was such a fun activity too, great to learn how to make this essential Korean ingredient. Our guides were kind and knowledgable and made for a great day trip from Seoul. I'd 100% recommend this tour!
Culinary Adventure Day Tour! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the unique experience at Aegibong Observatory, with its incredible views and the chance to see North Korea up close. It's fantastic that you also enjoyed making gochujang—a perfect way to dive into Korean culture! We're grateful for your kind words about our guides; they love sharing their knowledge and passion for this lesser-known part of the DMZ. Thank you again for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back for more memorable adventures in Korea!
Being so close to the North Korea and being able to actually peek into a North Korean village was a thought-provoking and memorable experience. Since this tour specifically takes you to a less touristy spot, the experience is also much more enjoyable. Also making our own gochujang on a Korean farm was a lot of fun. Overall the tour was very informative and also the guides have been incredibly kind.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear that visiting the Aegibong Observatory provided such a memorable and thought-provoking perspective on the DMZ. We strive to offer unique, less-traveled spots for a more immersive and peaceful experience, so I’m glad you found this tour to be just that. I’m thrilled that the gochujang-making on the Korean farm was a fun addition to your day as well! Thank you for your kind words about our guides—we’re glad they could make your tour enjoyable and informative. We hope to see you again on future adventures!
