DO NOT book with this company. They will pull a bait and switch and add others to your private tour but not reduce the price. Although the guide herself was charming she could not answer questions in English very well
This was a fantastic way to see the city in a short day with teenagers. Anwar was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. The van was very comfortable, and each stop added memories for the family and a greater understanding of Moroccan history and culture. Thanks for a great experience.
Overall a good day in Tangier. We saw a lot. Anwar was professional, we had a very nice vehicle, and he kept us supplied with cold waters. While we saw a lot, my hesitation is that we booked a "private" tour so we could try and get a more private experience than a large group and wonder through the shops of the medina at our own pace. We ended up being paired with another 2 people (based on our talking to another couple from the ship, that happened to them as well so appears to be standard practice in Tangier.) The 2 people we were with were lovely, so that could have been fine.... but rather than take us to an authentic local restaurant for lunch, we ended up in a 4 story restaurant packed with Western tourists, which specifically catered to tourists, had (what I'm guessing was) mediocre Moroccan food at European prices (the price we didnt find out until after the meal and then they said "service not included" so squeezed a little more money out.) Following this, rather than let us wonder through the shops, we we were escorted by Anwar to 3 very specific shops of his choosing. The first one, under the guise of learning about local handicrafts, was simply a large carpet shop. My friend ended up buying an over-priced carpet to be shipped home, but he had a ball doing it due to the very funny and charming salesman. Next, we were escorted into an Argon oil shop where we got a brief synopsis of some products of Morocco, again by a very charming salesman, then shopped there. My friend wanted to get a caftan, so next we were taken to a specific shop that sold a mixture of clothing, jewelry, and various vintage looking things. Again, the shop men were extremely kind and my friend and I both got something. Then, we were taken back to the pier. We saw tons of nice views, did the camel ride on the beach, went to the small side cave of "Hercules Cave" (which was hilarious and definitely has Casa Bonita vibes), and got to walk quite a lot through the old town area, so feel like we really did do a ton - which would have been hard (probably impossible) to accomplish on our own. So, for that reason, I would recommend this tour. I just wish we perhaps would have had more freedom in choosing a lunch spot or wondering into shops - though the shops he took us to were without question very nice. Overall Anwar was very accommodating and we really enjoyed our day.
My friend and I had a really great time. Overall it was quite enjoyable. Covered many good sites and pace was nice. We booked private but we were placed in with a nice other pair of travelers. The explanation was not super satisfying. Had to sit facing backwards in our van which made looking at the city difficult. Our guide Anwar was very nice and accommodating. We struggled to understand him much of the time but understood enough to get some basic understanding of the city and culture. He didn’t really understand our questions when we tried to get more information about things. The driver of the car was nice. Second half of the tour we visited some shops in the Medina and probably spent way too much. The shops were cool but hard to know when the deal was a good one.
Great guide, very knowledgeable, good with the kids. Even arranged birthday cake for to celebrate my son’s birthday! Highly recommend.
We had an excellent day with our guide Nahrin and Mehdi our driver. We saw everything we wanted to see in Tangier and had a wonderful authentic Moroccan lunch on a rooftop in the heart of the Medina. The tour lasted longer than expected (though they were conscious of getting us back to our ship on time) and they worked hard to make sure it was a good day. Highly recommend!
I very highly recommend this excursion. Anwar was absolutely the best pick for hosting us in the beautiful city of Tangier. This was a true private tour for our group of 6. He paced the day beautifully and managed every stop to ensure we got to see as much as possible. He made the city come to life for us with a mix of history, interesting current information and fun facts. And we had a beautiful camel ride on the beach which was importance to us! He knew all the right spots to go, the best views and recommended an outstanding place for lunch with a traditional Morrocan meal. Our driver for the day kept up with the many stops… we never had to wait. Thank you again Anwar for making our day in Tangier unforgettable. Our whole group thought this was one of the best excursions we have ever had.
This was a good overview tour of Tangier. The big advantage of it is that you get to see the outskirts of Tangier including Cap Spartel and Hercules Cave in comfort (you have to pay €8 extra to see main cave). So you see Tangiers fancy residences and you drive by the kings palace. It includes great tour through narrower streets of old town and we got to see the inside of a house in the old town. We wanted to buy a man bag so we were brought to a beautiful store with stunning rugs in particular. Not sure prices were fair. Later my husband got hot so we were brought to another shop for water where we were put under intense pressure to buy. I did not like that at all. Also I think we got charged way too much for a wall light fixture.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad you enjoyed exploring Tangier and its highlights with us. But the Cave is not included and you can see it On our page, and you missed say I was spent with you more than 5 hours to show you all the places in tangier it was 7 hours,We also appreciate your comments about the shopping stops, and we're sorry they didn't meet your expectations but you are in Berber market so I think you missed the negotiate is a part of cultural. Your feedback is valuable and will help us improve the experience for future guests. We hope
Anwar and his driver gave us a fascinating insight into Tangier. We loved the camel ride the caves and driving around. The car was luxury and seemed to follow us everywhere we felt like real VIP’s .We loved seeing the fancy areas and the shopping experience was great. He looked after us so-well.
