Comfortable vehicle. Very knowledgeable of the history. Funny and friendly. Easy to work with. He contacted me a week before the tour and asked if there were any specific interests.
Matt was an excellent city guide and this was a very comfortable private tour. We now crave more time to learn some additional fun Nashville facts so we are planning to do this again in the summer with some family members! We genuinely recommend it 😁👍.
Matt was an excellent tour guide and provided insightful information and shared some interesting Nashville history! The four of us were very comfortable in his super clean SUV and truly enjoyed the two hours that we spent with Matt… We all wished we had more time to see more sights and learn more so we might hook up with him again on our next Nashville Bash Weekend visit!

If you are looking for a tour in Nashville that feels less like a rehearsed lecture and more like an exclusive backstage pass, Matt Black is the guide you want. We recently booked a private tour with Matt, and it exceeded every expectation. Here is why he stands out: Unmatched Insider Knowledge: Matt doesn’t just hit the "greatest hits" of the city. He shares the kind of stories you won't find in a guidebook—details about local history, architecture, and the notable figures who have shaped the area. A Seamless, Professional Experience: From the moment we met, everything was handled with incredible polish. He managed the logistics perfectly, allowing us to simply relax and soak in the sights without worrying about timing or crowds. Personalized Pace: Because it was a private tour, Matt was incredibly adaptive. He sensed exactly when we wanted to linger at a specific spot for photos and when we were ready to move on to the next hidden gem. Engaging Storytelling: Matt has a natural charisma that makes the history of the area come alive. He is witty, approachable, and clearly passionate about what he does. Bottom line: A tour with Matt Black is an investment in a truly memorable experience. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a local looking to see your city through a new lens, Matt provides a sophisticated, high-end service that is second to none.
We had a great tour with Matt. He was knowledgeable and great fun on the tour. We highly recommend him for future travelers
We visited Nashville for 4 nights from 7th Feb as a party of 4. Matt was waiting for us at the airport which was very welcome after a 9 hour flight. His car was immaculately clean and very comfortable. First day we did a 2 hour tour of Nashville which really gave us our bearings and we learnt so much that we would never have found out on our own. The following day we arranged a 5 hour tour out of Nashville city centre concentrating on the Civil War with stop offs at a historical house ,fort and plantation. We visited Franklin which was just a beautiful town ,it was like stepping back in time! I can't stress the benefit of a small private tour like this as Matt structured the day to our interests ( even driving us to the famous Bluebird cafe as my daughter was a great fan of the Nashville series!) Nothing beats local information with the ability to ask questions about practically anything. In fact Matt gave us a host of information and recommendations even before we left the UK in order that we could book and plan. We visited the Ol Opry for a show and Matt took us there and collected us which alleviated the issue of trying to get an Uber with everyone else! To finish our trip Matt took us back to the airport. I am so pleased that we found Matt as he really enhanced our wonderful trip, he is a genuinely nice Guy with a great sense of humour and I would not hesitate to recommend him!
We have been on several tours in Nashville over the past 20+ years, and this was by far the best! Matt met us at our unit in Club Wyndham Resort right when he said he would be there (actually a few minutes early), parked and greeted us in the parking lot. (Us was the 4 of us; me, my wife, her brother and his wife). The first thing I noticed was that his SUV was spotless inside and out. It was a great size for the 4 of us to be comfortable during the whole tour. He told us a little about himself and asked us about where we were from and what was the occasion for our visit. We explained that it was my brother-in-law, Chuck's 65th Birthday, and we decided to celebrate it with him in Nashville since he had never been there. As soon as we pulled out of the parking lot Matt became the Tour Guide Extraordinare, giving us a detailed explanation of the area and many of the buildings. And as we headed to Downtown Nashville, he highlighted what the tour included, and never missed a beat in responding to our many questions, answering them all in a very professional manner. Immediately it became obvious to us that he was extremely knowledgeable about Nashville and the surrounding area. My wife and I were really impressed as he took us to very interesting places that we didn't even know about, even though we had been in Nashville so many times. Now, since I don't know how to type and the 2 fingers I use are getting tired, let me sum up my comments by saying that Matt is the best tour guide I have ever met, and it was easy for our family to leave feeling like we had made a new friend. We will definitely call him the next time we are in Nashville, and plan to recommend him to everyone we meet who is planning to go to Nashville. Thanks Matt!
Fantastic tour. Matt was great, shared tons of interesting facts and details, gave us recommendations of other things to do, and was very flexible. Highly recommend him, if we come back to Nashville we will definitely work with him again. Thank you Matt!
The driver, Matt, was friendly, knowledgeable and one of the best your guides I have ever had. He gave a thorough history while showing us Nashville's main attractions. I would recommend a tour with him to anyone traveling to Nashville for the first time.
