Um dia inesquecível para descobrir a rochosa costa oeste de Gran Canaria e o norte verdejante longe do turismo de massa. Durante este dia poderá aproveitar para nadar nas mais belas piscinas naturais da ilha. Escolher-nos é optar por viajar sem pressa, redescobrindo a diversidade das paisagens mas também o seu património local, histórico, cultural e gastronómico. Sua excursão é totalmente privada, sem paradas de negócios desnecessárias. Estamos estabelecidos há muitos anos na ilha de Gran Canaria. Há mais de 20 anos, apaixonámo-nos pelas suas gentes, pelas suas paisagens e pelas suas tradições. Somos apaixonados por visitar todos os cantos da nossa bela ilha. Itinerário
Faremos uma parada para fotos no “Molino de Viento”. É um moinho de vento localizado a poucos quilômetros de Mogan. A tradição oral conta que foi um pastor de La Aldea quem a incendiou em retaliação ao poder municipal. A partir de então ficou conhecido como Moulin Brûlé. Foi restaurado em 1998. A sua torre de 7 metros torna-o no maior moinho de vento da Gran Canaria.
Pararemos para admirar os “Azulejos de Veneguera”, um monumento natural formado por um complexo processo de solidificação dos fluidos expelidos pelo vulcão Tejeda e que a erosão de milhares de anos deixou exposto. Uma montanha como se a coloríssemos com pinceladas. A erosão revelou uma série de camadas geológicas, minerais tingidos com tons avermelhados, ocres, verdes e azuis. Os moradores locais deram o nome de “Los Azulejos de Veneguera” por causa de sua semelhança com as paredes de azulejos coloridos de San Nicolas de Tolentino.
Em Puerto de la Aldea encontraremos a única praia de fácil acesso de toda esta costa. Caminharemos pelo porto e depois seguiremos em direção a “El Charco”. É um pequeno lago natural situado na praia de La Aldea, constituído por água do mar. As festas de El Charco, na aldeia de San Nicolás, são um dos eventos mais famosos e populares das Ilhas Canárias. Todo dia 11 de setembro, no “lago” da cidade, centenas de pessoas se reúnem para pescar com as próprias mãos os peixes que vivem nesta lagoa costeira. Este festival é considerado um Bem de Interesse Cultural e baseia-se numa tradição pré-hispânica. Depois de uma longa viagem pelos abismos rochosos com uma parada para tirar fotos da costa selvagem, chegaremos à nossa próxima parada “O Puerto de Las Nieves”.
Agaete possui algumas das piscinas naturais e praias mais populares da zona norte da ilha. Caminharemos pelo seu pitoresco passeio marítimo e pararemos nas piscinas naturais. Não se esqueça do fato de banho se quiser nadar nestas piscinas! Uma experiência única e inesquecível!
Depois de nadar, caminharemos em direção ao porto de Agaete “Puerto de las Nieves”, um pequeno porto de pesca com os seus numerosos restaurantes de peixe à beira-mar. Esta será a paragem ideal para uma merecida pausa para almoço num restaurante típico das Canárias, principalmente. oferecendo peixe pescado localmente. (Refeições não incluídas no preço da excursão). Após a refeição, passearemos pelo porto com as suas casas brancas e azuis ao pé da praia de calhau. Aproveitaremos para ver o que resta do famoso “Dedo de Dios”, a rocha emblemática do porto. É um monólito que surge do oceano e tem a forma de uma mão e um dedo apontando para o céu. Após uma tempestade no outono de 2005, o dedo ruiu. Tudo o que resta hoje é a mão. Chegará então a hora de pegar o caminho para Arucas.
Sairemos agora da estrada principal em direção a Arucas. Aqui a paisagem é muito verde e há plantações de bananas e típicas “fincas” por todo o lado. Nesta região, a agricultura desempenha um papel principal. Em Arucas visitaremos (exterior) a Catedral “Iglesia de San Juan”. Esta enorme igreja com quatro torres foi construída em basalto negro.

We had a great time with Fabian. Myself and my 13 years old daughter enjoyed his stories about the island and visiting places that were picturesque and certainly memorable. Lunch was super tasty and we loved trying typical Canarian food. Fabian was also patient with us when we wanted to stop and buy some nicely crafted souvenirs - much appreciated. Through his excursion, Fabien has shown us some of the wonders of Gran Canaria. He was able to satisfy our thirst for curiosity about the history, geography and culture of this island. We had the opportunity to take a trip to the mountains of Gran Canaria in December 2023 with this company and we were completely satisfied. So this year, for our return to the island we booked the full tour of the island and obviously again with Fabien. It was like meeting a long-time friend. You could see he was really happy to see us again. We toured the island as indicated on the program and even with a few little “Plus”, because Fabien knows how to adapt according to his clients and does not count his time. We enjoyed visiting the beach area of “La Aldea” Fabien showed us sites that we could not have discovered alone. The fish meal in Agaete facing the port was very good and typical. The West Coast is wild and beautiful. Fabien has many different excursions and as we return every year, we have already planned a completely different excursion. Having just completed my second tour with Fabien (my first was two years ago), I can confidently say that it is one of Gran Canaria's best guidebooks. This "Jane McDonald Tour" was absolutely fantastic and took us to some of the island's most beautiful hidden treasures. Fabien’s profound knowledge and passion for Gran Canaria are evident at every stop. From the crystal clear waters of Tufia with its charming white-blue houses and cave dwellings to the impressive neo-Gothic San Juan Bautista church in Arucas - every stop was a highlight. The historic centre of Arucas with its 17th-century architecture was particularly fascinating. ==References== A special highlight was the visit to Firgas, also known as the "balcony of the Atlantic". The Paseo de Gran Canaria with its waterfall road and the Paseo de Canarias, which shows the landscapes of all the Canary Islands, offer breathtaking photographic motifs. Lunch here was a unique experience with local watercress dishes - a truly authentic taste of Canarian cuisine! The last stop at Puerto de las Nieves in Agaete was overwhelming, with its natural pools and iconic Dedo de Dios rock formation. The blue and white houses along the pebble beach perfectly embody the charm of this fishing village. What distinguishes Fabien is his charming personality, his many years of experience and his ability to convey not only the tourist places but the authentic soul of Gran Canaria. His personable nature and professional approach make the 8-hour tour seem like an excursion with a well-informed friend. I have now done two different tours with Fabien and would book again at any time. If you want to experience the real Gran Canaria with an excellent guide, Fabien is the place to be. His tours are worth every euro! Tip for travellers: Think of comfortable shoes, sun protection and bathing gear if you want to swim in the natural pools!
