Leopold museum has been my favorite museum during this trip. Julia was amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable about art and while she explains to you the different paintings, you can tell how much she loves what she does and how passionate she is about Austrian art. I highly recommend this tour if you want to know more about history, art and are looking for another museum besides Belvedere. In this tour you learn about Makart, Klimt, Shiele, eccentric Kokoschka, Gerstl, among others. Thank you Julia for a wonderful time.
Dear Isabella and Romano, Thank you so much for your wonderful words! I could truly feel your genuine curiosity and your deep interest in understanding the art and the history behind it — that made the experience especially rewarding for me as well. I’m so glad the tour added a special touch to your time in Vienna, and I hope the artworks continue to inspire you long after your trip. Warmest regards, Julia
I came to the Leopold Museum with a very basic knowledge of Austrian art, I knew about Gustav Klimt of course, but not much more. In just two hours I not only learnt a few names or had a number of paintings explained to me, but thanks to my brilliant guide Julia I now have a very vivid picture of what was going on in art in Vienna. Julia really has a talent for making you see complexity without overloading you with any kind of technicalities. Highly recommended.
Samantha, I am glad to hear that you learned new things about art and enjoyed your tour. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review!
It is difficult to imagine, that the Leopold Museum's collection of paintings, furniture and handicrafts comprises solely of one man's private collection. Our guide Julie, an art historian, was very knowledgeable of the artwork exhibited, mainly of Viennese painters Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka, etc., from the first half of the 20th century. Her explanation of the intrinsic meaning and hidden intricacies of the masterpiece paintings, as well as of the Succession Movement which took place at that time, was fascinating. I would encourage any art lover to take a private tour of the Leopold Museum and enjoy Julie's passionate explanation as we did.
Dear Jehangir, It was an absolute pleasure to guide you four through the collection of the Leopold Museum and to explore those aspects of Secession art in which you have such a keen interest and wide experience. Thank you for your kind words! It is of great value to me.
Everything Julia said made sense and was not the usual talk about art styles. She made this tour not what I expected it to be from the description, it was a lot more interesting. I highly recommend this tour!
Dear Leen, It is so kind of you to write me this review. Please let me thank you for your keen interest and challenging questions on this tour. It was an exciting experience and I am happy to hear that you found it both interesting and valuable.
The Leopold Museum has such a great collection, but we would never have understood or even been able to see it without Julia's excellent guidance. This tour was so much more than just information about artists and paintings. It was the most emotional, intelligent and witty encounter with art we have ever had.
Dear Bodil and Erik, thank you very much for your compliments. As you mentioned the Leopold Museum has a great collection and it is an infinite joy to go around with such curious art lovers as yourselves. I hope you come again for more art.
We did not know exactly what to expect from Austrian art and booked this tour almost by accident. We were all the more surprised that this tour became the highlight of our trip. Our wonderful guide, Julia, created a deep and engaging experience. Thanks to her, we not only saw wonderful art, but had a thought-provoking and emotional encounter with art and history. Five stars!
Dear Linda, I am so so glad that your instincts were right and you chose the museum and the tour that turned out to be exactly what you were interested in. I love telling stories you about Klimt and Schiele and I am particularly happy to hear that you took them as thought provoking. That is the biggest compliment. Thank you!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided excellent information about the Leopold and Viennese modern art.
Dear Julie and Jonathan, Thank you for your kind words. Your questions about art, collecting and life in Vienna were very interesting, and I am sorry that our tour was too short to answer all of them. I hope to see you in Vienna on your next visit to continue exploring art.
My wife and I were thrilled to revisit the Leopold Museum in Vienna, as we have a deep appreciation for its impressive collection of art. However, we wanted to take our experience to the next level and booked a private tour with an art expert to gain unique insights. Our expectations were exceeded when we met Julia, our guide for the day. Her exceptional knowledge and ability to communicate complex information in an engaging manner made the experience truly unforgettable. We spent two and a half hours with her, but could have easily spent more time due to the fascinating insights she provided. Our time with Julia was, without a doubt, the highlight of our trip to Vienna. We cannot wait to visit another museum with her on our next city tour.
Dear Michal, dear Gilad, thank you! It was likewise a very joyful experience for me to discuss the masterpieces in the Leopold Museum with you. I am very pleased that you appreciated it, and hope to meet you soon again next time you are in Vienna. All the best to you, Julia
Our tour was a highlight of our week in Vienna. Julia was knowledgable, engaging, and balanced high level history with specific facts. We came out with a better understanding of Austria, art more broadly, but also the three Austrian masters. I could not recommend the tour more.
Dear Hunter, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! It was your keen interest and your questions that made this tour a real pleasure for me. Thank you!
Julia was an engaging and knowledgeable guide, and our 2+ hours with her flew by! I left the tour with a newfound appreciation for Klimt as well as the ability to really see the visual relationship between Klimt's works and Schiele's. In addition, Julia also wove in lots of interesting history about Vienna. In sum, I learned a ton and would take another tour with Julia in a heartbeat.
Dear Allison, Thank you so much for this wonderful review. I'm glad you gave me the chance to be a part of your art experience in Vienna. Thank you! And come back for more.
