We had such a great tour with Yuka to Miyajima and the Peace Memorial Park, atomic bomb dome and peace memorial museum. She added so much knowledge and depth to our understanding of the area. Both my 9 and 11 year old children as well as the adults learned a lot and all agreed we would recommend this tour!
Toshi was the highlight of our trip to Japan. My entire family loved him and his personal attachment to Hiroshima, his mother having been in and survived the bomb, meant that he is a one of a kind resource. We will always be sending Toshi and his mother our love. You should book a trip with him and when you do please take excellent care of him because he deserves the best ❤️
We had an amazing time , the highlight was actually was our tour guide, Toshi, he was extermly knowledgeable, kind, funny , not to mentioned he has many stories of his mom being a part of the tradgedy and hearing her first hand expeirance. We will always remember Toshi as our Hiroshima friend. We would not visit Hiroshima without a great tour guide it can be a bit confusing if you include the island. Spectacular! My 28 year old sons favorite day of our 10 day stay in japan. Thank you Toshi ! ❤️L
Toshi was awesome. He brought personal experiences to the day and was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. Our group will never forget him or the insight he gave us into the city and the human tragedy of the war.
Our experience in Hiroshima was truly amazing. The sights were spectacular and the history sobering. Our guide Toshi made the day exceptional with his knowledge and passion brought to life knowing he had family members who survived the bomb. Thank you for making this excursion the highlight of our holiday Toshi.
Truly amazing day with our guide Minori. We started with a ferry to Miyajima to see the “floating” torii gate and explore the shrines around the island. From there we took a high-speed ferry into Hiroshima and grabbed lunch at a local Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki spot. We even ran into a few locals there, always a good sign you’re in the right place. The afternoon shifted gears. We walked through the Peace Park starting at the hypocenter, then traced the impact across the surrounding buildings and streets. Minori didn’t rush it or sugarcoat anything. She gave context, told real stories, and let the weight of it land. It was especially moving hearing her personal connection, her mother was in a nearby village and saw the blast from a distance. That kind of perspective sticks with you. It’s heavy, but it’s something everyone should experience at least once. If you’re on the fence, book the tour and ask for Minori. She’s organized, thoughtful, and knows how to balance a full day without it feeling rushed or scripted.
We spent day with our private guide, Mariko. Her English was excellent. We customized the day on the fly. Did Atomic Museum, Peace Park, and Miyajima Iskand. Great communication! So, the best way to do a long day here is with a private guide. We took in the Atomic museum at our own pace, walked the Peace park, and saw Atomic Dome. Then we caught a boat to Miyajima Island. The island is home to famed gate, Tori, which is massive, but floats at high tide. We also visited Itsukushima Shrine which is constructed entirely over water. Enjoyed the deer, shopped, and had lunch at local spot. Hiroshima is known for its version of the "Japanese pancake" called Hiroshima Okonomiyaki. Cooked in a hibachi style flat grill, it is layer of cabbage, then noodles, the pork & veggies, and topped with egg. Delicious!!! Big thanks to our guide, Mayiko for the great communication and wonderful day!!!
We spent the day with private guide, Mariko. Her English was wonderful. She had lived and gone to college in the US. We visited the Atomic Museum, Peace park, and Peace dome. Then we took a boat to Miyajima Island . The island was wonderful. Saw a unique massive floating gate (Tori) and the Itsukushima Shrine / which is constructed over water. Went to small local restaurant and had amazing Japanese Pancake which was the Hiroshima Okonomiyaki. This was cabbage layer, noodle layer, pork, veggies & egg in top cooked on hibachi type grill. Great Day. Adapted to what we wanted to do. Massive bargain!!!
Seeing Hiroshima was a meaningful experience and our tour guide, Toshi, did a wonderful job in bringing life to the history.
Our tour to Hiroshima and Miyajima was wonderful, despite the rain! Emiko-San was very caring and accommodating. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient, but not pushy. She even taught our grandson how to make a paper crane, and presented the boys with crane gifts. I would highly recommend her, and this tour.
