Este não é o habitual passeio "turístico", mas sim um passeio filosófico, entre os monumentos antigos que fornecem a melhor paisagem para ver esta transformação incrível. Os filósofos pré-socráticos nos deram o que pode ser considerado como a única verdadeira “descoberta” na ciência: que nosso mundo pode ser compreendido por meio de leis naturais cuja identificação poderia permitir que os seres humanos compreendam seu ambiente, e até mesmo a si mesmos... Vamos explorar juntos esta fascinante mudança na percepção humana e descobrir onde estamos hoje!

Este lugar era o coração da cidade de Atenas. Filósofos como Sócrates, Platão, políticos como Sólon, Temístocles, Péricles, Tucídides, Sófocles, Aristófanis, que constituíam o “Dream Team” de Atenas, proeminentes atenienses e cidadãos simples caminharam por aqui e tiveram discussões e debates sobre todos os assuntos.
Faremos uma caminhada tranquila pelo colorido mercado de pulgas de Atenas, com muitas lojas de antiguidades e turísticas.
A Biblioteca de Adriano foi criada pelo imperador romano Adriano em 132 DC no lado norte da Acrópole de Atenas e era a segunda maior do mundo naquela época.
A Ágora Romana em Atenas está localizada ao norte da Acrópole e a leste da Ágora Antiga.
A construção octogonal chamada Torre dos Ventos foi feita pelo astrônomo Andronicus de Kyrristos, no século I aC e servia tanto como indicador de vento, mas também como relógio, por isso era o “Big Ben” de Atenas e também a estação meteorológica de a cidade. O relógio era solar mas em dias nublados havia também um mecanismo hidráulico que produzia um som a cada hora! É considerada a primeira estação meteorológica.
Plaka é um bairro pitoresco de Atenas com pequenas casas e pitorescas ruas estreitas.
Pnyx Hill foi o primeiro parlamento do mundo. Este lugar oferece uma excelente vista para a área e é um ótimo local para ver o pôr do sol. Também é gratuito, assim como as melhores coisas da vida.
A Colina Philoppapos (ou Colina das Musas) oferece as melhores vistas para a Acrópole e Atenas à noite.

Bery ingormational, interesting and educational tour given by a very knowledgeable and good speaker. Panos have a good tour with much information about the politics and democracy of ancient Greece, along with philosophies and myths of the ancient Greeks and how these philosophical thinkers affected modern thinking.

Very detailed tour covering Ancient Greece and the philosophers and historical people who created the principles of a democratic state. The walk included going up hill over looking Athens. The views were dramatic, especially the evening we went when there was a rainbow. The professor was a little long winded, but in general we really appreciated his knowledge and learned a lot.
We did the tour two days ago and it was the highlight of our trip! Panos was truly excellent. He injected so much fun and humour into the tour; we loved every second. We learned so much and have bookmarked his website for further reading when we get home. The tour covered the history of Athens and how philosophy, democracy and mythology shaped and continue to influence both ancient Athens and the modern world. Panos was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging throughout. We particularly loved the demonstration of Pythagoras’ cup - so much so that we bought one as a souvenir the next day! We saw so many hidden gems of Athens that we would’ve otherwise missed, such as the prison ruins where Socrates was executed and the ancient cemetery. This tour is a wonderful way to explore the city and its extensive, beautiful, complicated culture. Thank you Panos!
