We enjoyed the day learning about Kangaroo Island and seeing the sights. The guides were very knowledgeable and approachable. We definitely recommend this small group number tour.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour of Kangaroo Island and appreciated the stunning sights. Our experienced and friendly guides significantly enhance the overall experience. Thank you for your kind endorsement of our small group tour. We hope to welcome you back to travel with Sealink again soon! Kind regards Caron @ Sealink
We didn't feel the 50% price hike over the standard day tour was worth it. Also, compared to the standard day tour the stops were rushed and you saw less. Long drives within the trip. If the guide had been miked up there was plenty of time for indigenous briefing on the bus, rather than the hour plus spent at the start, which caused everything else to be really rushed. At AUS $1650 for 3 people this was really poor value for money.
The Kangaroo Island tour was the start of our honeymoon in Australia. With this premise, by mutual agreement with our travel agency we did not pre-book any further tours that involved sighting Australian wildlife in natural habitats because what place can be better than a nature reserve? Unfortunately this was not the case for us, the Italian guide already months in advance was sold out so we booked in English, without the possibility of having an audio guide. That said Lee our guide showed us the whole part of the island unfortunately burned during the fire a couple of years ago, and the coasts of the island. No animals, not all the stops were made and only at the end of the tour when our despair was more than evident, with the van we made a desperate ride in search of a kangaroo without even being able to get out of the vehicle. 90% of the time spent in the van, which was driven at such a speed that even the sheep on the side of the road were scared. Among the places visited is the noise emitted by the vehicle, the chances of spotting kangaroos and koalas were very low. In addition to the money wasted on this excursion, the damage was double, as to recover from this experience, we were forced to deduct time from the next stage to be able to organize a tour that would allow us the missed sighting. Other Italians we met during the trip and who took the same tour in the same days with another guide, were enthusiastic and showed us beautiful photos of places not even seen by us. Unfortunately our dear Lee ruined part of our holiday.
Excellent tour, seen so much in one day, koalas, seals, sea lions, kangaroos and birds as well as beautiful landscapes. Very knowledgeable tour guide Nikki

We had a fabulous trip with Nikki. The number of animals she could spot was outstanding. Weather, food and transportation all great. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on kangaroo island and wonderful to see it recovering.

Nikki Redman was our Nature Tour guide with her extensive knowledge and passion for her job made a bleak day very informative and totally enjoyable 😉 We saw Seals to landscapes to picturesque coastlines, natural rock formations, forest regeneration after 2020 bushfires and Aussie Koalas. A delicious Lunch was fully catered for us with local wines, ad well as afternoon tea.

Wow. We looooved the tour with our amazing host, Nikki. She had such a passion for the Island, a great sense of humour, and she looked after us super well. She had so much knowledge about the flora and fauna on the island which was just fascinating, and learning about and seeing the regeneration of the environment was so interesting. Highlights were the bush lunch, the koalas, goannas and echidna we saw and loved the gin distillery. Highly recommended!
Hi FifiGaborrr, Thanks for taking the time to leave us this amazing review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your time on beautiful Kangaroo Island and would love to have you join us on tour again. Best Regards, The KI Odysseys Team
After a false start thanks to COVID-19, and a later decision to take the car and extend our stay, Serina at KI Odyssey was brilliant in getting it all sorted and booked for us - nothing was too much trouble; including my numerous change of mind. Thank you Serina for all your emails and calls to get us to KI. Our first day on KI kicked off early with Nikki keen to get going to show us her world - and what a remarkable world it is! Being her only guests we had licence to deviate from the original tour plan and visit some of Nikki's special spots South to North. Brilliant! Being avid lovers of the wilderness and natural environs, Nikki did not disappoint in showing us some very beautiful parts of her KI including the regenerating Flinders Chase bushland and spotting lots of local inhabitants . When Nikki wasn't introducing us to the next magnificent experience, she ensured we compiled a comprehensive list of many other beautiful places to visit over our extended visit - and yes, we did sort the tides to return to Stokes Bay to find the magic beach on the other side of the rocky outcrop! I cannot recommend these people enough from Serina's impeccable planning and booking to Nikki's willingness and passion to share her knowledge and experience of KI to make our trip unforgettable...including a sensational 2 course lunch with a bottle of local wine in amongst the bush! Thanks Nikki for an unforgettable big day we will recommend to friends!
Hi Ruth & Rachel, Thank you for provided such positive feedback regarding your KI Odysseys experience. My husband and I went on this tour and it was wonderful beyond belief. Nikki was our guide and she was warm, extremely knowledgable about the island’s history, the animals and the forests and other vegetation. She took us all over the island and showed us in detail all the ways the land was coming back. She made time for us to see the Parndarna Community Garden established after the fires to let locals grow food for themselves, which was on our wish list. But the island and her passion for nature and her kindness were the real highlights. Even when the cancellation of the late ferry meant cutting an hour or so off the tour, she still showed us all kinds of wonders. We saw lots of koalas up close, an abundance of the KI kangaroos (so cute), cape barren geese, honey eaters and other birds, fur seals up close (which was so exciting), wallabies, and the best of all an echidna train (which is rare to see and so so special). The female echidna leaves a scent trail and all the males follow her around for up to 50 days until she decides to mate. This is real boasting material! Nikki has inspired us to come back and spend a week on the Island next holiday because we saw or heard from her about all the things to do and places together see more of. Not to mention seeing more of Nikki. The Mercury was a good place to stay, right on the Bay, and the food is really excellent. I cannot recommend this tour enough - or any tour Nikki leads. Go see it all on Kangaroo Island.
Hi Kate & Greg, We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your tour on KI with Nikki and look forward to welcoming you back when you return for a longer stay. Thank you for taking the time to leave your wonderful review. Best Regards, The KI Odysseys Team
The Road to Recovery Tour was outstanding. Our guide Nikki, was a local with a deep knowledge of the island and its geology, ecology, biology and geography. She was enthusiastic, kind, thoughtful and a perfect guide to the wonders of the island and the way it is recovering from the catastrophic bushfires . We had a wonderful day. Highly recommended.
Hi SydneyIrene, Thank you for your lovely review of your time spent with Nikki. The Road to Recovery tour is a great way to experience Kangaroo Island from a local's perspective and to view the amazing regeneration of our native bushland, as well as the recovery of our wildlife and people. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback. Best Regards The KI Odysseys Team
