Nuno collected us from the hotel bang on time. His knowledge of the area, of wine making processes and history really brought the trip alive. All the locations we visited were interesting and flavoursome. The boat trip was lovely and relaxing. Overall it was an excellent trip and well worth the money. Book today (with Nuno)!
We had an amazing day and experience with our tour guide, Thiago. He was personable and knowledgeable. But most importantly, he has true joy for the work that he does. He also made sure that we were always safe, comfortable and having a great time! This tour was a great way to start exploring Douro Valley and we highly recommend it as two Portuguese citizens!!
Tiago was excellent! His knowledge and professionalism was the best part of the day…along with the lovely wines of course! Would definitely recommend for solo travellers, couples or small groups. The length of the tour was great - we had a full day of exploring and tasting but still got back into Porto town centre early enough to continue exploring and enjoy the night life.
This tour / day trip is an absolute must. We had the absolute best guide, Tiago Mendes. He had a true passion for making our experience unforgettable. The stops along our journey were authentic and not over crowded. A truly beautiful day.
The Duoro Valley is spectacular and beautiful and the wine and food were delicious, but the best part of this tour was our amazing guide Tiago! He is a true local with a commitment to making it an authentic, intimate and enjoyable time for all. We can’t recommend booking this experience with him enough!
Super nice trip, - the valley is an invaluable experience - the cruise is a great way to show it. Not so deeply focused on the wine. Breakfast was nice and it was really good to be a small group of 8. Guiden Tiago-very sympathetic and helpful
We were so lucky to have Tiago as our guide for the day. He picked us up and was so kind and funny! He made us very comfortable and our family of 5 adults enjoyed meeting the other 3 people on our trip. The view during the drive was breathtaking and perfect stop for coffee. We did olive oil and wine tasting at first stop. A great boat ride in Pinhao that was fun. We had excellent wine with a lovely lunch overlooking a vineyard and great port wine at end. Through it all Tiago took care of us and made sure we were set! The day was so much fun for all of us!
What an awesome day in the Douro Valley! Tiago was an amazing host, driver, and guide who took us to three amazing places with gorgeous views, delicious food, and of course great wine! Definitely worth the time and money and I recommend adding the river cruise onto your package. I traveled solo and had a really enjoyable time with our intimate group of 7 of us.
I can’t speak highly enough about this tour. While the wines and the views were absolutely top notch, what really made our time even more special was our guide, Tiago. He banded together a group of strangers into friends immediately, and poured the love (pun intended) into every part of the experience. Easily one of the highlights of our trip was spending the day in Douro Valley with Tiago!
We had such an amazing time on this tour of the Douro Valley. It was honestly the highlight of our trip to Portugal. We drank some phenomenal wines with phenomenal views of the many terraces along the Douro River. The size of the group was perfect and it didn’t feel like we were on a tour at all. It felt more like we were traveling with a group of friends. The real star of the show was our tour guide, Tiago. He was the kindest, most friendly person who did his very best to make sure everyone had a great time, even going as far as dropping us off near our hotels in both Porto and across the river in Gaia. In the words of Tiago, “I don’t see myself as your tour guide. I see myself as your friend for the day.” He truly was a friend to all of us and I’d highly recommend booking a tour with him to anyone.
