Have been to Barcelona before but mainly for work and never had the extra time to really explore the city properly. Found GoLocal Barcelona online. What an amazing way to not only explore the city but learn more about its food scene, history, culture and architecture through a walking tour guided by - a local! She shared her personal favourite places and each one was an absolute jewel. Neat little tucked away places I would never have found on my own. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful tour with Alex! He was so welcoming and we appreciated his flexibility and care in making sure our young kids also had an enjoyable experience. Beyond the amazing food, he was so knowledgeable and helpful in sharing thoughtful recommendations for the rest of our trip. Would not hesitate to book the tour again!

Enjoyable tour but note that food is not included. I have been on several food tours and that was a first. However, it was a delightful tour and Elvira is a very good tour guide. She takes you off the beaten touristy area which was quite enjoyable!

We paid way too much money for this tour. I think doing a food tour needs to really stand out. We have high tastes and the food ordered for us were honestly more like tv dinners and typical American fried food. In hindsight I should have booked one of our favorite restaurants because it still would have been cheaper and more exciting food wise. We did really enjoy hearing our guide’s experiences and history with the community and food. I realized that we have really enjoyed the experience tours with Viator (like about history, etc), but food is too personal. Just my opinion.

We undastand that although Alex gave you some elaborate dishes such as Frincando local stew and confit pork ribs, there will be other typical Spanish tapas like fried fresh Andalusian calamary that did not suceed your expectations. Your feedback was very valuable and from now on we are NOT including the food cost in Viator tours so guest can fully choose the tastings. Thank you :)
My last time in Barcelona was Spring 1969 as I was driving to Sitges. This time I spent 4 nights there with a friend and we hired Elvira for 2 nights of fun, food, and Spanish frolic! She knew where to take the 4 of us, which TAPAS to order, and everyone was amazing! We went to places most tourists would pass on the street! She knew the folks that ran the cafes and restaurants and we were served fast some of the best food and drinks ever! I would recommend Everyone who travels to Barcelona to hire Elvira for a food tour! She’s so positive, fun AND speaks perfect English! My best 2 nights in Barcelona was with Elvira!!

We had a great time on our tour with Alex, who was an incredible guide. From the very beginning, he was gracious, welcoming, and highly knowledgeable about Spanish food culture. The tapas and wine selections were fantastic — especially the paella, which was a real highlight. Highly recommend this experience!

More than a food tour. Had a wonderful time with Elvira, her knowledge of local food and history was amazing.
