If you are interested in archeology and anthropology, Juca is is a great guide. Not only did we see some great sites, we learned about the customs of Terceira as well.

We had the absolute pleasure of spending the day on an archaeology tour in Terceira with Juca in February, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip to the Azores. From the moment we met him, his kindness and generosity stood out. He is genuinely one of the most gracious people we’ve ever encountered. What made the experience so special was Juca’s passion. It’s immediately clear how deeply he cares about the islands and how committed he is to sharing their true history and stories. He doesn’t just guide a tour, he brings Terceira to life in a way that feels personal, authentic, and incredibly meaningful. He took our family all over the island, showing us breathtaking scenic spots that felt almost unreal. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, and the entire day flowed effortlessly, giving us a complete and unforgettable experience of the island. On top of that, Juca is an incredibly talented photographer. He captured beautiful moments of our family throughout the day, photos we will truly cherish forever. We cannot thank him enough for the time, care, and heart he put into our day. If you’re considering a tour in Terceira, don’t hesitate. This is an experience you’ll never forget.

My Engkish-speaking guide Juca was knowledgeable and well informed, and he incorporated his many years of experience exploring Terceira into a fascinating full day tour of the island. The archaeologcal sites are not well marked, and a guide is needed to enter privately owned areas. I highly recommend this tour.

It was fascinating to learn about the prehistoric history on the island of Terceira in the Azores! We spent one day focusing on archeology, and another day on photography. We were taken to different places around the island, and we really enjoyed these tours. Also, the lunch spots had some of the best food we had during our stay!

This time was really well spent! A truly amazing archeological tour! We were able to visit sites which are probably 3000+ years old!

Interesting tour and access to archeological artefacts in-situ, accessing sites we wouldn’t be able to access without the knowledge and expertise of our guide. My 15 and 7 year olds were able to keep up as well with the pace. Great way to explore Terceira and learn about it’s history.
