A história dos judeus de Riga é muito rica e significativa. Grande parte deste património ainda pode ser visto hoje. Em três horas com um guia experiente, tanto de carro quanto a pé, é possível visitar locais importantes e receber informações de forma bastante concentrada, mas ao mesmo tempo de forma fácil e compreensível. Por favor, esteja informado que no Shabat e outros feriados religiosos judaicos, a Sinagoga e o Museu do Gueto de Riga estão fechados. A duração do passeio depende da intensidade do trânsito na rua.

Vários belos edifícios nesta parte de Riga foram projetados pelo arquiteto judeu Mikhail Eisenstein e em um dos edifícios nasceu o filósofo Isaiah Berlin.
Este é o antigo território do gueto judeu de Riga, onde muitos edifícios estão na mesma forma de 80 anos atrás, na época da Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Em 4 de julho de 1941, mais de 300 centenas de refugiados judeus da Lituânia e judeus letões locais foram reunidos no porão da sinagoga, que foi intencionalmente queimada até o chão. Há um lugar momorial hoje.
Em novembro de 1941, os nazistas decidiram exterminar completamente os prisioneiros judeus do gueto de Riga. Durante os eventos ocorridos em 30 de novembro e 8 de dezembro de 1941, mais de 25.000 pessoas foram mortas na floresta de Rumbula, incluindo aproximadamente mil judeus que foram deportados da Alemanha. Um memorial completo foi inaugurado em 29 de novembro de 2002.

A sinagoga de Riga na Rua Peitavas é uma das joias Art Nouveau de Riga e um importante monumento cultural. A Sinagoga foi construída em 1903-1905 e projetada no estilo Art Nouveau com motivos egípcios antigos.

Armands was a wonderful host and tour guild. His in depth understanding of Riga’s Jewish history knowledge was superb. He also shared many fascinating and captivating local stories and legends. I would highly recommend taking this 5 Star tour.

We enjoyed the tour a lot. Our guide was knowledgeable. Very knowledgeable. We saw everything we wanted and were able to spend the time we wanted at each place without being rushed. He went over time originally planned because we spent more time at each site which we thought was so kind.

This was a very comprehensive and informative tour about the Jews of Riga. It gave the history, the accomplishments, and the tragic end during the holocaust. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and explained everything thoroughly. He gave us enough time at all the stops to do a little exploration on our own.
Armands was very knowledgeable and answered our questions. We went to several sites and witnessed memorials for the Jews that were killed in World War II. This tour is a somber tour and was presented with tact and honor for the memories of those lost. We learned much and purchased a book at the Jewish Ghetto museum.

Armands was very knowledgeable about Jewish culture and the history of Jews in Riga. We booked the tour for a Saturday which meant that a few things were closed for Shabbat. Armands was flexible and brought us to another place of interest instead.
