I don't recommend it in high season. There are no adequate sanitary batteries in the places to visit, which is a problem if you are going with older adults or children. Transportation is not done by bus, it is done by mini van, it is too uncomfortable, understandable in a way, because the tracks are not suitable for the passage of medium vehicles, However, the spaces in the chairs are very small, not suitable if it measures more than 1.70m. A recognition of the patience and charisma of the driver. The large, terrible beach sector does not have the necessary logistical coordination to anticipate the arrival of groups, no chairs available, no adequate bathroom services. The large beach sector, NOT LARGE, is only in name, there was no needle, however, boats with groups kept arriving, they must better ensure the process to receive the groups that carry the agencies. Otherwise, the food very rich in the two sectors, although, at the big beach stop it is difficult to get drinks, that sector was a bad experience. Recognition to the driver and guide because in the middle of everything they tried to make the experience enjoyable.
Beach with crystal clear waters, snorkeling (extra charge) very good with colorful fish, you can buy fish food come out amazing photos, very friendly and professional guides, quiet beach with places selling drinks and chairs with shade to spend a nice time facing the sea, stop to take photos; spectacular waterfall very good tour time to enjoy both sites,.
The tour was good. Pick-up from the hotel was punctual, around 7:30/8:00. First stop: Minca, where we were given breakfast (choose between egg arepa, scrambled eggs or patacón with cheese). Then we went to Pozo Azul, which is reached after a walk of about 30 minutes; it is not recommended for people with mobility problems, because the road is stone. There we had 1 hour to bathe — the water is very cold, but refreshing. Then we pass through Taganga, with a short 5 minute stop at the viewpoint, and lunch in front of the beach (includes chicken, pork or fish options; there are other options paying extra). The drink is not included. Optionally, you can dive with fish in a natural pool belonging to Tayrona National Park. It lasts half an hour, includes photos and costs 25,000 pesos. Finally, we visit Playa Grande, which is reached by boat in only 5 minutes. There were a lot of people and, if you want, you can rent chairs for 6,000 pesos.
The Minca tour was very nice, the waterfall was beautiful. The tour guide was knowledgeable and gave us useful information. Food was less than fair. The van has air conditioned, but small not a large tour bus. The driver was excellent, and drove responsibly. The second part of the tour, we didn’t like. The boat that took us to Playa grande was small, life jackets were provided. The bay was beautiful, but the crowd was very local. The restroom was not good in any way. There’s no electricity or running water on the island.
Fabian was professional, kind and attentive. Got picked up at the hotel. Breakfast and lunch provided, delicious! Bring changes of clothes because you will walk to the waterfall so you'll need bug spray, then jump into the refreshing water! Then to view el Mirrador lookout spot, then to beach Playa Grande. Bring pesos if you want to rent a chair, tent and enjoy some local coffee/snacks for purchase (and always for the bathrooms duh!), it is HOT! Bring water/ sunscreen/hat/coverup!
