Esta construção Mudéjar foi construída em 1180. Possui cinco naves separadas por pilares que suportam arcos de ferradura. No século XV, foi convertido em igreja, embora hoje seja simplesmente um monumento aberto aos visitantes. Tem um tecto em caixotão de madeira, altares platerescos e um retábulo da escola de Berruguete.
A Iglesia de San Ildefonso é uma igreja de estilo barroco localizada no centro da cidade histórica de Toledo, em Castela-La Mancha, Espanha. É também conhecida como a igreja jesuíta e é consagrada a Santo Ildefonso de Toledo, padroeiro da cidade e Pai da Igreja. Sua construção levou mais de 100 anos. O trabalho começou em 1629 em terras adquiridas pelos jesuítas de Toledo em 1569. O local abrigava as casas de Juan Hurtado de Mendoza Rojas e Guzmán, conde de Orgaz. [1] Foi o local de nascimento de Santo Ildefonso. Pedro e Estefanía Manrique, altos membros da nobreza castelhana, foram os promotores da construção do templo.
A igreja paroquial deve ter sido fundada após a Reconquista Cristã da cidade por Afonso VI em 1085, como a primeira notícia que temos de sua existência é de 1142. Desde o primeiro edifício mudéjar, ela manteve o grande arco multifólio sobreposto a cima. o arco principal que separa a nave principal do presbitério, juntamente com os robustos contrafortes desta parte da nave e um pequeno arco de trevo sobre um friso de tijolos dispostos em estilo mudéjar que sobrevive na parte alta do que costumava ser o santuário semicircular de a igreja original de nave única.
Este mosteiro foi fundado pelo rei Fernando II de Aragão e a rainha Isabella I de Castela para comemorar tanto o nascimento do seu filho, o príncipe João, como a sua vitória na Batalha de Toro (1476) sobre o exército de Afonso V de Portugal. Toledo foi escolhido como o local para a construção do mosteiro, devido à sua localização geográfica central e porque tinha sido a capital do antigo reino visigodo, simbolicamente reconstituído por Isabella e Fernando com a restauração da unidade perdida da Espanha, através da união de Castela. com Aragão.
A Mesquita de Cristo de la Luz é uma antiga mesquita em Toledo, Espanha. É o um dos dez que existiram na cidade durante o período mouro. O edifício era então conhecido como Mezquita Bab-al-Mardum, derivando seu nome do portão da cidade Bab al-Mardum. Ele está localizado perto da Puerta del Sol, em uma área da cidade que já foi chamada de Medina, onde os muçulmanos ricos costumavam viver.
Embora a igreja seja pequena, é um edifício excepcional, pois foi o local de quatro construções sucessivas, uma na outra e assim por diante. É uma igreja do século XII construída em uma mesquita Taifa do século XI, que foi uma expansão de uma Mesquita omíada do século IX e por sua vez um edifício religioso visigótico. Também estas civilizações reutilizaram elementos romanos do século II.

Today we made the excursion to Toledo full day. We had booked a tour in Spanish that was not fulfilled. They spoke mostly in English and by the time I played Spanish I had already left the place and we couldn’t understand too much. While the guide Oscar knows a lot he was neither cordial nor kind to us. The services of the company were good, both the collective and its driver. .

Not the first time in Toledo. Last year I attended the split tour (half day Segovia, half day Toledo). There i fell in love with the city, so I had to come back to a full day tour. 100% worth the money. Oscar is a really kind and nice instructor with enormous knowledge. The tour is well organised, we had time for everything. The cathedral is always the cherry on the top but the masterpiece of El Greco and the wibe of the whole city is amazing. We had time to many small pauses (for shopping etc) and a 1 hour lunch break nearby the best reataurants in Toledo. Of course the small streets are a bit crowded especially when there’s traffic on them, but managable. Amazing experience and my favourite activity in and around Madrid. When i visit the capital, i’ll always find some time for Toledo as well.

Our guide Oscar was indefatigable! So much knowledge and a whole bunch of interesting historical facts- with a good dose of humour. Driver Rafa got us there and back safely despite some hairy s-bends in the hills. All in all an excellent day and Toledo is definitely worth the effort.

Oscar our guide for the day was really informative and considerate, a really enjoyable day exploring Toledo. Our coach driver Rafa made us feel comfortable and did amazingly well driving on the narrow streets to do the panoramic view of the city.

I booked the non guided tour and they try to convince everyone in the morning to do the guided tour if you had not booked it. We did not do that and so we were essentially on our own except for drop off and meetup for return trip. I expected some more engagement with the group but it was essentially just an over priced bus ride to Toledo. I did feel like a bit of an outcast on the bus as everyone else was in the guided tour. In my opinion they should only offer 1 full guided tour option. My recommendation is to either do the full guided tour or don’t do this activity and just book regular transportation to Toledo. Also. My wife got sick overnight and was not able to make it and so was just my self and 2 kids who continued on the tour. I mentioned this to Viator and asked if I could even get a partial refund since we are still continuing with 3 of the 4 but they were not flexible at all. Having said all that, I do understand the policy of no cancellation inside 24hrs. Overall I did have fun with my kids but was not due to anything this tour provided.

We don’t try to convince anyone to do the guided tour, but sometimes, people change their mind, and when possible, we offer them the possibility to join the guided tour, and it’s always our customer’s choice, as it was yours today to continue on your own. You say that you were on your own except for drop off and meetup for return trip, being just an over priced bus ride to Toledo. This is not correct. This tour provided you with a panoramic tour of the city stopping for pictures at a very nice point view. This tour provided you as well with an hour walking tour with the whole group. And after this, you decided to visit on your own the 7 monuments that this tour gave you tickets for. We are glad to hear that you had fun with your kids.
