Our family of four (with two teens) took this ONOWHEEL bike tour and it was a blast. We look forward to a second tour. Our guide Kotaro was nice, friendly, and knowledgeable and the bikes were in great condition. We toured a bunch of different places and gained some inside knowledge of different parts of the city. Bonus: the bike shop is located in a walkable neighborhood (Harajuku) which had more than a few interesting shops and restaurants.
This was our first vacation to Japan as a family of 4 with two teenagers (from California). We had an amazing time on the bike tour with Kentaro! He customized the route to fit our interests and made sure we had a great time. We felt comfortable and safe following a guide rather than trying to navigate with our phones. We were able to cover a lot of Tokyo that we would never have found on our own. Kentaro and his brother were super communicative, providing details about the ride. When it rained on our scheduled tour, they rescheduled for the next day. My whole family would highly recommend this bike experience without hesitation.
We have traveled to Tokyo 3 times now and have frequented Baggage Coffee on each occasion, which is how we met Kotaru and his brother (operators of Ono Wheel). They mentioned the tour service during our first trip but our itineraries were fairly fixed. However, this visit we left room for a cycle tour. Having spent time in Tokyo before, and being familiar with the main tourist attractions, my wife and I floated the idea of touring the toilets featured in Wim Wenders' recent film 'Perfect Days' (which my wife and I adore). Not only did they seem receptive to the idea, the amount of preparation blew us away. When we showed up for our tour Kotaru had the locations mapped out, had watched the film the night before, and had even selected certain camera angles from a few of the scenes to recreate for our photos. The ride was amazing, Tokyo MUST be seen from the saddle of a bicycle, Kotaru was a warm, generous host, and the day will live in our hearts forever.
The whole experience was great. I meant to do it in 2024 but did not have the bandwidth to fit it in on my itinerary. Two years later, for my bachelor party, I got to finally do it. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable ride around Tokyo. It rained halfway through the ride but through it all, our guide Kotaro was super great. He offered several options when it rained - either to continue with the planned route or to skip one and if we were good to keep going despite the rain. We visited a a bakery before heading back to the bike rental shop. Back at the bike shop there is a coffee shop that is also really good. We got coffee and matcha there while enjoying our baked goods. I would certainly do this bike ride again in the future and perhaps see if Kotaro has any other routes in mind. 5/5 stars, I highly recommend this bike tour!
This private bike tour of Shibuya was the highlight of my first trip to Japan! We were able to see the city from a different perspective that we would otherwise have missed out on. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the city. I highly recommend this tour! Great coffee too.
I rode my bike around Tokyo from morning! Very good for morning activities, starting the day at the best time and feeling that getting up early is a three-prong virtue!
Good route, energy and people. I felt safe the whole event
It was a great event to see the lovely Tokyo location by bike. The staff was very concerned about the safety of the participants and the ride went smoothly. I would love to participate in the next one.
Amazing bike ride around Tokyo with very welcoming people!
Has such a blast! The brothers are super awesome and have such a great bike route through the city. He took me around the entirety of Tokyo and hit all the hot spots for cool photos, historical stories, and the suburban parts of the city. We even stopped for a coffee at 7/11. After the ride they were so sweet and made sure I got back to my hotel before checkout at 11 while downloading all the photos. Such a great experience and I’m so glad I booked it. 10/10 recommend
