Fantastic experience with experienced guides, superb value for money.

What a wonderful experience! Our family of 4 adults (2 x 56 year olds and including 2 adult children), travelled from Akasaka to do the Big Mononoke experience with pick up from the Okayama station at about 1pm. They transported us to their base where we were briefed, and given our clothing/equipment. We chose option A- which was a slightly longer walk, in order to do the higher abseils. Our 2 guides: Tomo, and Tapan were experienced and instilled confidence in us . They were friendly, and mixed jokes with the serious instructions. Our equipment was in amazing condition. Full wetsuits (tops and bottoms), gloves, wetsuit socks and then canyon shoes (with fantastic grip), and helmets/harnesses. We travelled in their van for about 20 min to the start of the trails. Tomo was a great driver, especially during the extremely narrow road up the canyon. We then hiked into the canyon to a small stop, just to practice jumping into a small waterfall pool. Then it was onwards and upwards. Be warned that the trail up is often quite slippery and very narrow, with drop off to your side. However, Tomo and Tapan warned us where to walk eg the left side, where the rocks/trees are slippery etc. you need to have a reasonable level of fitness to climb/walk up. But our guides walked so that it fitted with our pace. The entire experience consisted of about 3 abseils (and they also asked if anyone wanted to be lowered instead, which I chose to do (Mum).). We also had about 3 water slides, where you could also go down backwards, and in pairs! Then we got to jump into the waterfall pool. We ended with a zipline across the river, Then it was a short walk back to the van to travel back to base. Hot showers/cold tea drink awaited us, and then we gave feedback via their website,,which once you logged into, gave you access to all the photos and videos (at no extra cost). A wonderful experience and great value for money.

Amazing and fun experience in nature.

It was an unforgivable experience, the guides are very friendly and were always cracking a joke making the tour light and fun. If you like adventure and nature, then I couldn't recommend this tour more. The equipments are top notch and the base camp is well equipped with showers, etc. I hope I can return one day to do another tour with them.

First Time Canyoning ~ An Unforgettable Experience In Okutama

It was my first time canyoning, and even though I was pretty chicken even for the beginner’s course, the guides were really kind and encouraging, and I made new friends in the group! The scenery was so incredibly gorgeous, I wouldn’t have minded just taking photos the whole time. It was like being in a forest from a Studio Ghibli. (Hence the course being named after Princess Mononoke.) The entire group was super fun, and the guides were super professional, friendly, and put safety first. I’ll definitely be back for more, and with a little more courage now that I know what to expect. Definitely recommend!!

Awesome Tour for a Family

Great trip! We are from Minnesota, USA so we had no idea what to expect. But upon arrival, they gave us full wet suits, socks, shoes, and helmets. The suits are buoyant, so you don't have to be an expert swimmer. We had Ericson as our guide and he is from Canada & speaks English! He was top-notch and super fun! We are a family of 4 with 2 young adults (18 & 19 years old). Everyone had a great time. You take a 30-minute bus ride. Hike up 20 minutes. You get to repel, slide, and jump all the way down into amazing pools. If there is ever a spot you are not confident in doing the activity there is a way to walk around. We took the subway from Tokyo to the town. Then did the 1/2 mile walk to Canyons.

Best summer memories

It was my first time playing in the river! The two guides were so bright and gentle and fun♪ The river water was so beautiful and pleasant, diving, natural slides, zip lines… It was a great canyoning experience! They also take a lot of photos and videos, and at the end they give it away for free, making it a really nice summer memory. I really recommend it!! I want to enjoy another level of canyoning next♪
