Esta viagem começa quando pegamos em nossa localização em Gatlinburg, TN. Viajamos em vans confortáveis e ecológicas até nossa primeira parada nas ruínas de uma antiga cidade turística que remonta a mais de 100 anos. Aprenderemos sobre a história da extração de madeira nos Smokies, a vida dos primeiros pioneiros dos Apalaches e a fundação do parque nacional. A partir daqui, subiremos as montanhas em uma das estradas mais belas do sudeste. Ao longo do caminho, faremos uma parada em mirantes panorâmicos para fotos, perguntas e interpretações da área. Finalmente chegamos a Newfound Gap e à fronteira de 5.000 pés de altura entre o Tennessee e a Carolina do Norte. Aqui aprenderemos sobre a Trilha dos Apalaches de 2.200 milhas de extensão e o local onde o presidente Franklin Roosevelt deu a dedicação do parque em 1940.

Teremos a oportunidade de sair e explorar um dos rios mais poderosos do Parque Nacional Great Smoky Mountains enquanto aprendemos sobre a história da fundação do parque e como as vidas de madeireiros, trabalhadores do CCC, agricultores pioneiros e os primeiros visitantes recreativos de montanha se cruzaram.
Newfound Gap Road é um dos passeios mais belos do sudeste. Faremos a longa viagem de 13 milhas para fora do Vale Sugarlands enquanto aprendemos sobre as pessoas, plantas, animais e a história das Great Smoky Mountains. Ao longo do caminho, faremos uma parada em vários mirantes panorâmicos para fotos das altas montanhas e vales escuros e sombreados.
Nas profundezas das montanhas, a uma altura de mais de 1.500 metros, ficaremos na fronteira do estado enquanto olhamos para o Vale Sugarland ao norte e o Vale Oconaluftee ao sul. We took the Smokey Mountain tour today and it was exceptional! Our tour guide Rick was the best. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the park and its history and fun and entertaining! I would highly recommend both!

We had an absolutely fantastic Smoky Mountains tour with our guide, Kindel. Her knowledge of the Smokies was incredible, and her genuine enthusiasm for the area made the whole experience so enjoyable. We learned so much about the mountains, wildlife, history and local area along the way. The vehicle was spotlessly clean, comfortable and perfect for exploring the mountains. Kindel was friendly, engaging and happy to answer all of our questions. This was genuinely one of the highlights of our entire Tennessee trip and we would highly recommend the tour — especially with Kindel as your guide!
Rick was our tour guide and he did a great job. He was not only knowledgeable but accommodating and had a great personality. He is from the area and had some interesting history. I highly recommend this tour.

We really enjoyed this tour and guide. Because we are not from the area and first time seeing the smoky mountains, we selected this tour with a guide and are very pleased. Jay/tour guide was exceptional. He texted a day before with meet point details and his number. Lucky for us, we got to enjoy the tour with only Jay. Jay was very professional, courteous, kind, knowledgeable, and witty. He took us to many sites that we would not have known to see and educated us on the history of some events. Well worth taking and experiencing.
