This tour was absolutely amazing! I surprised my husband with a trip to Ireland for his 60th birthday, and he had no idea. We arrived in Dublin and spent a few days exploring before heading to Galway, where we met Ulla. She picked us up promptly at our hotel, and right away we knew she was someone special. From the moment we started, it felt like we were off on a true adventure. Ulla took us to so many hidden gems we never would have found on our own — a perfumery, a chocolatier, an incredible hot chocolate stop, castles, burial sites, and of course the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. The entire experience was unforgettable. Ulla was incredibly knowledgeable about the area's history and shared fascinating stories throughout the tour. More than that, she was down-to-earth, warm, and friendly. By the end of the day, it felt like we had been traveling with a friend. I highly recommend this private tour. You will not be disappointed. If you're considering it, do it — it's truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Ulla is the best tour guide!
Thank you very much for this wonderful review, dear Mandy and Joe! What a day it was - unforgettable! Some new rocks for your garden are absolutely necessary for sure:). I am here, patiently waiting... Love and hugs to you both.
Our private tour with Ulla was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip to Ireland. From the moment she picked us up at our hotel, we knew the day was going to be special. At our request, Ulla designed the day to feel “off the beaten path,” often taking smaller roads, avoiding the large tour buses and crowds, and allowing us to experience western Ireland in a much more peaceful and authentic way. It was exactly the kind of experience we were hoping for. Throughout the day we visited an incredible variety of locations, including Dunguaire Castle, Hazel Mountain Chocolate, Burren Perfumery, Poulnabrone Dolmen, the charming town of Ballyvaughan, Doolin, and finally the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, which truly must be seen to be believed. We especially loved our time at the Burren Perfumery, where the tranquil herb gardens and perfume experience created such a relaxing and unique stop. Lunch at Monk’s in Ballyvaughan was also excellent, and Ulla was extremely thoughtful and accommodating regarding our strict gluten-free dietary requirements due to celiac disease. Beyond the spectacular scenery and fascinating sites, what made the day truly memorable was Ulla herself. She is warm, personable, intelligent, and an exceptional storyteller. Originally from Estonia, she shared how she came to Ireland 22 years ago and completely fell in love with the country, and that passion shines through in every part of the tour. The experience never felt scripted or rushed. Ulla would offer thoughtful suggestions while remaining completely flexible about what we wanted to do and how long we wanted to spend at each stop. By the end of the day, it genuinely felt less like being guided by a tour operator and more like spending the day exploring Ireland with a friend. The day could not possibly have gone better, and we give Ulla our absolute highest recommendation without hesitation or reservation.
Dear John and Natalie, Thank you very much for your kind and beautiful review! It was a pleasure to spend a day with you by enjoying the splendid views, sharing our stories or just taking it all in in silence. Thanks again and wishing you many more wonderful travels!
Ulla is the heart and soul of Ireland, and I can't be pushed to say that about anyone else. From the start, I felt like I was being welcomed into a family, for just a brief but precious moment. We navigated winding roads and drank up seascape and hilltop view after view, and Ulla's enthusiasm and kindness never wavered. I felt like I was sampling a chocolate box of Irish delights-our visit to Poulnabrone Dolmen, a Ring Fort, and an intriguing cave whet my appetite for more. It is restorative when you are in the presence of someone who nourishes your curiosity, inquistiveness, and dreams as a traveler. If you want to explore and seize the adventure that has been waiting here for you, this is the tour! Ulla was also impeccable in her professionalism and great with my partner, who had different way of absorbing information, and I was pleased to see him engaging and enjoying things at his own pace. Ulla was supremely flexible in all this, and she tailored this tour so that we saw and did exactly what we wanted to do. I never once felt like I was silly for asking a question, or for wanting to do a touristy thing, or for making a mistake. Her communication was 100% and I couldn't be more grateful. I was jet lagged and hungry and probably not at my best, but I feel like this journey made me feel shiny and new and I quickly forgot about that and was completely hooked and at ease. Her knowledge of every nook and cranny of Ireland makes her the ideal navigator for any part of your visit. I'm so glad I found her tour and I cannot recommend it enough!
You can tell how much Ulla loves the country and nature. She took us to most unique and serene places in Burrner region and then to the Cliffs. It felt we were the only people there so much raw natural Beauty in the area. Ulla customize the tour for us as we wanted to explore the true nature of the region and not just do the standard cookie cutter tourist loop of the region. The stop at chocolate factory was wonderful. Yummy organic chocolates. The stop at the perfume factory felt not very necessary but it was ok to the see the business in the middle of no where. If you particularly are not in natural perfumes, candles and soaps this can be skipped. Ulla as a guide was super curteous. I had to tell her not to get out of the car to open the door for me. Her car was new, clean. We felt totally safe with her driving and to be with her in remote areas. I would highly recommend someone who wants to do an off beaten path with true raw natural beauty …. Just book Ulla’s tour.
Ulla’s private tour of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher is the perfect way to experience these sites. Ulla was a great tour guide. She showed us the best of the Burren by taking us on less traveled roads so we could get up close and personal with this area. We were able to get out and walk through the Irish countryside. Very relaxing day. Even though I was skeptical about the chocolate factory and the perfumery, they were both great stops which gave us a short respite. Don’t miss the hot chocolate and mochas at the chocolate factory. YUM. The perfumery gardens were wonderful to wonder through. Ulla made sure we visited the Cliffs later in the day when the big bus tours were leaving which made it less crowded. Ulla gave us a great recommendation to eat at Il Vicolo in Galway. It was wonderful! Highly recommend this tours.
Ulla spent the day taking us through the beautiful country roads along the coast, through the Burren, and to the Cliffs of Moher. She is professional, going out of her way to accommodate us, and thoughtful. We experienced the awe inspiring land in the presence of someone who loves Ireland and knows it deeply. I can’t say how much we enjoyed this day. Ulla is a special person, touring with her is truly a treasure.
It was a wonderful day. We saw and photographed so many stunning sights. The Burren is amazing, and Ulla’s tour stopped many times within the Burren. She timed the day so that we arrived at the dolman and the Cliffs of Moher at times when we were almost the only people there. We travelled on the backroads where the tour buses can’t go. And Ulla was kind, funny, helpful, knowledgeable…a perfect day.
The Cliffs of Moher and the Burren was a wonderful trip made all the more special by our wonderful guide Ulla. She was knowledgeable, friendly and gave us the freedom when we wanted it, to explore on our own. A fantastic day trip!
What a magnificent tour! Ulla knows this area extremely well - seemingly every scenic and isolated road, view and walk. She customized our trip depending on our desires, including plenty of time for walks, meals and visits. We avoided tourist-crowded sites for all but the cliffs of Moher (and that later in the day when the large groups were leaving). She's an excellent conversationalist and knowledgeable about natural history. The highlight of our trip.
Ulla was simply incredible. She has a love for the country that is hard to put into words. She will go anywhere you want! We were able to add a stop for my art loving husband. She truly brought the Burren alive.
