Wat Phra Singh é um dos templos mais famosos e atraentes da cidade murada de Chiang Mai. O templo, também conhecido como “O Mosteiro do Buda Leão”, é um templo ativo, com muitos monges e noviços morando lá. Wat Phra Singh remonta ao século 14, quando Chiang Mai era a capital do Reino Lanna, e é um dos melhores exemplos da arquitetura clássica do templo em estilo Lanna.
Wat Phan Tao é um dos templos mais antigos de Chiang Mai. As primeiras estruturas do templo foram construídas provavelmente no final do século XIV. Localizado dentro da antiga cidade murada, ao lado de Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phan Tao é conhecido por seu requintado 'viharn' no estilo Lanna, o salão de ordenação, inteiramente feito de madeira de teca sobre uma base de pedra.
Wat Chedi Luang, também conhecido como “O templo da Grande Stupa”, é uma impressionante ruína do templo. A construção do templo durou de 1391 a 1475. Embora o templo tenha desabado em 1545 devido a um terremoto, foi durante séculos o edifício mais alto de Chiang Mai. O maciço e muito impressionante chedi (pagode) que domina a área é sua característica mais proeminente. Wat Chedi Luang também é famoso por abrigar o Buda de Esmeralda, uma das relíquias religiosas mais importantes da Tailândia, que agora pode ser encontrada no Wat Phra Kaew em Bangkok.
Fora do antigo centro murado da cidade de Chiang Mai, Wat Lok Molee é um dos templos mais antigos da cidade. O templo também conhecido como Wat Lok Molee abriga um dos maiores e mais impressionantes chedis de Chiang Mai. O maciço chedi foi construído em 1527, quando deve ter dominado a área. O chedi contém as cinzas de vários reis da dinastia Mengrai, que governaram o Reino de Lanna desde o final do século 13 até 1558, quando os birmaneses invadiram o reino.
Chiang Mai Night Bazaar é o mercado mais famoso de Chiang Mai e uma das principais atrações turísticas da cidade. Este bazar noturno consiste em barracas de rua que vendem principalmente roupas e artesanato. Você também encontrará uma grande variedade de comida (de rua) e lanches no mercado. É aqui que desfrutaremos de uma refeição simples e de uma sobremesa. Depois disso, é hora de se despedir do seu guia. Great tour with a wonderful guide. Drivers were safe and navigated the city with easy. Guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and looked out for everyone. Beautiful temples at night, great ride though the streets of the old city, and finished at the night market for some delicious food. I would recommend for a nice evening’s entertainment.
