We really enjoyed this tour, especially the visit to Hida Folk Village. The surrounding nature was absolutely beautiful and the setting was peaceful and picturesque. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we learned so many interesting things about Takayama, local traditions, and Japanese culture. It was a wonderful way to discover the area and understand more about its history and way of life. A very enjoyable and enriching experience that we would definitely recommend!
So this is a short pleasant walk along one street a few historical insights before heading to the market area outside the Takayama Jinya, which you do not enter. A short taxi up to the Hida folk village which is interesting and the guide did a great job of explaining things and pointing out the local crafts. It is a perfectly good tour and very friendly guide but very overpriced.

This village was pure magic and it’s like travelling back in time . Our lovely guide spoke great english and took us around to show everything as well as at the end brought us to lovely soba ramen home kitchen like place. We loved it

Fantastic experience of how these communities live. Especially Kanda house is a must visit. Eco tourism does exist here. Great example of living with nature.
