A truly amazing day to learn about Japanese history and culture. Harry was our guide and as a former teacher he was excellent in explaining and answering all of our questions not only about our tour but also gave us tips about the other cities we are planning to visit. We stopped at all three villages. I’m so grateful we found this tour Ken/Dana Salt Lake City Utah
An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. We had the chance to explore the villages at a relaxed pace and really immerse ourselves in the local culture — something that’s hard to find on your own. Our guide Harry was exceptional: knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely happy to answer every question we had, no matter how many times we asked. He made the whole visit feel personal and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to go beyond the tourist surface and truly connect with a place.
Our tour with Harry was truly wonderful. He explained everything with great detail and answered all of our questions (and there were many!) He made a full day feel like just a couple of hours. He also shared plenty of recommendations for the rest of our stay in the area, which turned out to be really helpful. We highly recommend this tour! Thank you, Harry!

Hemi was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. We were very fortunate to have him give us additional information on each village. Our favorite village was Ainokura. It was smaller, less crowded and the traditional paper making experience was fun. Shirakawa-go was amazing and did not disappoint. The only drawback was the large group of 14. When we booked the tour, it was supposed to be only 5 persons. So instead of enjoying a nice lunch, we picked up lunch at Lawsons and ate en route to the next village, Suganuma.
A really great day with Harry. Really knowledgeable and respectful young man .
We have an awesome experience with our tour guide Harry. He is very informative and also good with the sites we went. We really enjoy the stories&history he shared. Highly recommend for this tour and also Harry!
Great day trip covering the 3 UNESCO heritage sites from Takayama with Harry as our guide. We learnt so much about the way of life of locals living in these villages during the Edo period, through Harry’s engaging storytelling.
A great day with our guide Harry. He explained to us what there was to see in the village. How they were built, the historical moments. The paper-making workshop is fun. I really recommend this experience to learn everything and enjoy without worries. I would not have seen or understood half of the things without the explanations. A must-do.
We had a wonderful day thanks to Harry, who made the visit to the three villages fascinating. We learned a lot about life during the Edo period, and the "paper" workshop was a plus for immersing ourselves in the local culture.
