Max was an incredible host for our full day tour of Cu Chi tunnels and Mekong Delta. It was a jam packed itinerary and as a family we loved it all.
Our family of 5 explored the Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta with Max as our guide and we had an awesome time. The tunnels gave us a unique understanding of what life was like for the Vietnamese back during the war, Max did an excellent job of explaining this in a way that was interesting and informative. The Mekong Delta was a great way to end the tour as it was in contrast more relaxing, from a soothing boat ride across the Mekong, to riding small boats through small canals. We were then met with some excellent traditional music from some terrific performers, with some tasting of snake wine thrown in there! Overall it was a terrific day, cannot recommend it enough if you are visiting Vietnam. Definitely suggest that you ask for Max if you end up doing this tour, great sense of humour, really informative and was open to any questions we had. We also had a ripper group of people in our tour group which made the day much better also.
We had an amazing day trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta with Max as our guide, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. The visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels was fascinating and eye-opening. Max explained the history in a way that was engaging and easy to understand, giving us real insight into what life was like during the war. It wasn’t just informative—it felt immersive and memorable. The Mekong Delta part of the tour was a perfect contrast. It was relaxing, scenic, and full of local experiences—from boat rides through the canals to trying fresh tropical fruits and local specialties. Everything was well-organized, and we never felt rushed. What really made the difference was Max. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. He made sure everyone was comfortable, answered all our questions, and added personal touches that made the day feel special rather than just a standard tour. Highly recommend this tour if you want to see both the historical and cultural sides of southern Vietnam in one day. And if you can, definitely ask for Max!
5 out of 5 The tour guide max was very patient and helpful
From start to finish we had the perfect day with Kevin as our guide and our driver was also extremely good. Would highly recommend choosing this private tour option as the tunnels and river both get quite busy. Kevin managed to guide us round the important areas of the tunnel complex whilst avoiding all the larger tour groups. Lunch included on the tour was at the restaurant at the tunnel complex and was very nice. Cold drinks including coke and beer supplied in the vehicle were welcome after each hot and humid stop! On the way to the tunnels we stopped at a handicapped craft centre which was interesting to see how the lacquer and egg-shell pictures were made - no hard-sell from the proprietors. After lunch we headed to My Tho (about 2 hours from Cu Chi) and had a boat ride to Unicorn Island. We explored a Coconut Candy factory and outlet and went to a family-run fruit farm, sampled the fruits and pandan tea whilst they entertained us with a medley of Vietnamese folk songs! We then headed for a rowing boat ride rowed by locals along the small inlets using a typical boat used to lay fish traps in the region. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable day!
We had a great time during the tour. Max was our tour guide and he made everything easier for us. We learned a lot about Ho Chi Minh City through him. He was very smart and always so smiley which made my mom and I's day! We'd surely book again next time when we come back :)
Our guide Ni was very friendly and taught us a lot about the history of Vietnam, including the war and about the areas we visited. Doing the tunnel tour with a small group of 6 people was great ! 3 of us in the group didn't feel very confident going down the tunnels but we still wanted to try and it felt reassuring to have 4 options for exits (20, 40, 60 or 100 meters). We had a set lunch with a variety of Vietnamese dishes at the restaurant of the tunnels museum, which was very tasty. In the afternoon we went around a small island in the Mekong delta region, did a tour in a kart, listened to traditional music and then went on a canoe in a narrow river. The only issue was the driving which was 6 hours in total but the limousine/mini-bus was very comfortable.
We had an awesome day with Ni, she was so knowledgeable and friendly throughout the whole day! Would tell anyone to spend the day with her!
The day was well planned and went according to plan. Our tour guide and driver were professional, very knowledgeable and friendly. I did not like how many stops we were asked to tip locals or buy goods, this felt excessive and took away from the experience. Also felt slightly vip then was described.
Super great tour and lots to see. Our guide was super funny and friendly. Can one recommend to certain good people
