It was very nicely spend time in the British beautiful two places Bourton-on-the-Water and Stratford upon Avon. Very well organised. Nice walking around main sight seeing with a group and professional/ knowledgeable guide, but also have time to explore by yourself. I went to butterfly farm and love it.
We went as a family of 5 on this trip (ages from 33 to 74) and there were only 24 people in total on the coach so there was plenty of room and the coach was luxurious to say the least. No Wi-Fi though. Our guide was Gerry and he was brilliant. He kept checking on everyone during the coach trip and was very knowledgeable about the area and when he spoke he made you feel at ease and spoke to you on your level. A big hit with students I would imagine. Passed through some beautiful countryside and villages along the way and the aim was to show you a sample of the Cotswolds and Shakespeare. Our first stop was Bourton-on-the-Water and what beautiful place! A typical larger village that has a stream running through the heart and there were so many places to eat, drink and be merry. If you visit the Cotswolds put this place on your list. Next was Anne Hathaway's Cottage, where we stopped to take pictures of the outside, before we arrived at Stratford-upon-Avon, another amazing place where Gerry took us on a walking tour of the area visiting the places related to Shakespeare. I know the basics of Shakespeare but I never knew that he was such a complex character and I learned so much on this visit, helped by Gerry's narrative, that I can now bore the pants off people at parties. Again, plenty of food and drink places. We had to rush a little at the end as a couple had booked a view of Shakespeare's house and we had a slight problem keeping up but overall it was an amazing trip and made extra amazing with Gerry as our guide. We would definitely recommend this trip and found it great value for money.
It was a fantastic trip and very well planned for a day, where we managed to cover all of Bourton on the water and Stratford upon Avon! Gery was extremely entertaining and his guided walking tours were very engaging. He was also very attentive to all of our needs. Would definitely recommend Discovery tours to anyone who wants to explore new places but have no idea how to go or what places to visit.
Gerri, our tour guide, was very helpful and friendly as always. Our driver was a star as well. I totally recommend Discovery tours, and will definitely book another journey with them very soon.
We enjoy our tour. Tour guide is excellent very experienced, on time, organised. Our coach driver excellent driving skills we feel safe. We gonna book again.
The places were beautiful. I wish we could have had a bit more time in each location and maybe visiting the first Cotswold town waking. Gerry’s guide was absolutely fantastic. Very professional, interesting and fun!
Great guide, very experienced. The tour gives you an overview of how life was in Tudor times and Shakespeare influence. At Stratford you get free time in which you can fit in seeing one of the few museum, even an open air show or enjoy a boat trip along the Avon river. But you won't have time to do all! Coach was excellent and comfortable. And the weather was lovely. One tip, if you eat on the coach you will have more time to explore. I will book these tours again.
This is the second time I've gone with discovery tours in the past 2 months, and both times were brilliant. Our tour guide was Gerry and he's great at making things so clear about everything. From the moment you get on the coach, you aren't left with any questions of what's to happen because he makes sure to let you know the itinerary of the day step by step. There are also quite a lot of foreign students on the trips still learning English, and I noticed he's good at explaining in a way that everyone can understand, as well as entertainingly funny! The trip to Stratford and back was long but beautiful and comfortable on the coach We had the opportunity to explore a Cotswolds village for an hour and a half and take some quick photos of Anne Hatheways cottage. Once we got off at Stratford, the guide toured us around the town before letting us explore on our own. There was the option to explore on your own from the beginning, but I'd recommend listening to all the fun facts! In total we got about 2 hours and a half in Stratford, which gives enough time to explore around, but unfortunately doesn't really give time to go into museums, but that's to be expected in these kind of day trips though due to the time constraint. I was supposed to be on the trip with a friend who had to cancel, but I'd still reccommend going on your own as our guide was very friendly and there's always other people going solo to chat with! All in all, was a great day.
Dear Courtney, thank you so much for the brilliant review, we are thrilled to hear you have enjoyed your experience with us and we look forward to welcoming you on board of one of our tours again in the future!
