Captain Sand was an absolutely amazing ambassador of fun for us! He is so personable and funny and he looked out for us the entire excursion. We were on a Disney cruise and he picked us right up at the port and brought us to the horses on the beach. The tour guides there were also absolutely amazing. We had the best time ever – first. We took pictures on the horses and then went on a scenic trail ride where Jay gave us history of the island. Then onto the really special part which was riding horses bareback into the water and swimming with them. They took tons of pictures and videos for us with our own phones and made sure to keep us safe at all times. 10 out of 10 I would recommend this. And like I said, Captain sand was wonderful and really made the time special!
We were on a cruise and this was one of our stops we booked through Tripadvisor. We had communication with the tour company immediately after booking making sure instructions on pick up was clear we were greeted at the port with two guides who were extremely knowledgeable, hospitable, and extremely patient with my family. They went above and beyond to make sure the children and the family had a good time. They told us information on our ride to The horses . They stayed with us the whole day to make sure we had everything we needed. highly recommend this tour, especially our guides you could not have asked for two gentlemen to be any more kinder than they were a great representation of their island.
I had this booked and was very excited about it, the day before the excursion I reached out to the tour guide to confirm pickup, they responded saying that they had been trying to get a hold of me and needed to reschedule due to Monday being a holiday, menaing the beaches would be crowded…..Where to begin, 1st why was the tour available if it was a holiday and they couldn’t do it? 2nd this didn’t really make sense because many other tours were still happening and I rescheduled the same tour with another operator for the same day and the beaches wasn’t crowded AT ALL, 3rd they lied when they said they had been trying to contact me because there was absolutely no contact made with me and in fact I reached out to them to confirm my pickup, 4th when I tired to communicate to figure out what to do they ghosted me and never responded. I had to call TripAdvisor customer service to get a refund.
This review is absolutely very untrue. This situation was not mentioned the exact way in which it happened. We are very accessible and go above and beyond for our Guest.
Christopher is a gem! Me and my boyfriend are still laughing thinking about our experience. He unexpectedly played katy Perry since we are from California 😂😂 and kept us laughing talking about Antigua karaoke and his grandmas curry goat. During the horse ride, James was great and the horses were so gentle and patient.
We had an amazing time. Chris picked us up dancing in the resort lobby. He kept us laughing and pointed out certain buildings to us on our way to the site. James assisted us with the horse and was professional, answered all my silly questions and offered to take lots of pictures. The horses were calm and great. I only rode a horse a long time ago and was nervous but the horses were great. Riding in the beautiful blue ocean was the best part.
Captain Christal went out of her way to meet up with us when we had a bit of a mix-up getting to our location. She was a great source of information about the island. We had a great time horseback riding and would recommend the activity to any visitors!
We had a great experience with Crystal and her trainee. Pickup was very easy just off the pier and Crystal gave us some great info about the island on our short ride to the beach. Her driving skills are next level! She dropped us off a the beach, which was beautiful! Her trainee stayed with us the whole trip and even got us some extra beach time at the end of the horse ride. We got to go out into the water on the horse and then did our ride. There were restrooms and showers to rinse off after the beach. We brought pants and sneakers to wear on the actual ride. It was the perfect day! Would definitely book another experience with this tour group. They all made sure we had a great day! Bring some apples for the horses for the end of your ride, they will greatly appreciate it!
My husband and I had a great time horseback riding on the beach. Firstly, our driver Jamal picked us up from Royalton Chic and was very friendly and knowledgeable about Antigua. He played us some Soca music and also showed us one of the 365 beaches, as well as explained the Antiguan flag. For the tour- the horse trainers were very friendly and charismatic, they made sure we were safe on the horses. Joel Christian led our tour at the front and was a delight, he was also very knowledgeable and told us some of the history of Antigua, such as it was named after a Spanish boat and that sugar crystals used to be the main export. Overall, it was great tour, would recommend anyone visiting Antigua to book.

We went to Antigua with AIDA and decided to go for a beach ride and swim with horses at Star Times Adventures. It all worked out great from start to finish. The guides are super friendly, speak perfect English and totally tried. The horses were well behaved, good and well groomed. We had a super great day!
