Excursão a pé pela Cidade Velha e pelo Palácio de Diocleciano

On the fifth day of our cruise, we arrived in Split, Croatia. We were greeted by Josco at the Diocletian Palace, the summer home of Roman Emperor Diocletian. For the next two hours, Josco had us travel back in time to the third century. He made the story come alive by sharing a comprehensive review of the construction of the summer home, and the life lived by the ancients. He then brought us to the twenty-first century, highlighting what life looks like today for current residents. What we appreciated most was his sharing unique understandings and interesting details that are not normally apparent to visiting tourists.

My husband and I booked a private tour with Joško and it was absolutely a highlight of our time in Split. Not only is he a master storyteller, his depth of knowledge and infectious passion for his beautiful home town truly bought nearly two millennia of eventful history to life for us. I plan to urge anyone I meet who is planning a trip to Split to tour with him, and will definitely look him up for other tours on future trips to the area. Joško was phenomenal! 100% the best tour we could have done! We weren’t sure if we wanted to do a tour but saw him and instantly wanted to book with him. My family consisted of my dad on a scooter (broken foot), my sister in a wheelchair and my son in a stroller and Joško made sure to accommodate everything for us and still give us a very informative and amazing tour! Our family of five took this tour with Joko as our tour guide. He was excellent and really gave us a true history lesson of the Diocletain Palace, explaining details we would have never discovered on our own. We enjoyed the history lesson, seeing the beauty of the palace and the surrounding area.

The entire tour was an excellent experience. Joe was very knowledgeable of the Palace and the Old Town. He relayed the information in an organized manner and added many details in a humorous way. He painted a picture of life in the Palace that made it come alive during our tour. My family all agreed that the experience with Joe was one of the highlights of our vacation.
