Localizado no distrito de Wanli, na cidade de Nova Taipei, como uma das principais atrações da costa norte de Taiwan, o Yehliu Geopark é o lar de uma série de formações rochosas únicas causadas pelo vento e pelo mar, como as rochas de cogumelos, a rocha de xadrez, os fósseis de traços e tudo isso.
A formação rochosa mais famosa é a icônica “Cabeça da Rainha”, uma rocha de cogumelo que se assemelha ao perfil da Rainha Elizabeth da Inglaterra. Todos os anos, o “Yehliu Night Tour” apresenta shows de luz, projeção de água, etc., atraindo mais de dez mil visitantes para ver a Cabeça da Rainha iluminada à noite. Jiufen é uma vila na encosta do distrito de Ruifang, na cidade de Nova Taipei. A vila floresceu na década de 1940 devido à indústria de mineração de ouro e depois caiu em desuso e decrepitude por anos. Embora a idade de ouro já tenha passado, esta pequena vila ainda tem muitas histórias para contar. Lá foi rodado o premiado filme “A City of Sadness”, dirigido pelo famoso diretor de cinema Hou Hsiao-Hsien. Situado no distrito de Pingxi, Nova Cidade de Taipei, Shifen Waterfall é uma das atrações mais populares nesta área, amplamente conhecida como a "Pequena Catarata do Niágara" de Taiwan, uma cachoeira de tipo cascade semelhante às Cataratas do Niágara da América do Norte.
Há várias plataformas de visualização perto de Shifen Waterfall, onde os visitantes podem ver a cachoeira de diferentes ângulos, até mesmo ter um olhar de perto. Em dias ensolarados, se você tiver sorte, você pode capturar um lindo arco-íris criado pela névoa desta cachoeira de 20 metros de altura, enquanto ele pulveriza no lago.
A Estação Shifen está localizada no rio Keelung, na área da cachoeira, originalmente construída para transportar carvão durante a colonização japonesa. A estação fica ao lado da Shifen Old Street, hoje é um lembrete da história de Taiwan. A rua está repleta de lojas de souvenirs, lojas de lanternas e restaurantes. Jenny, our tour guide, was very organized, informative and energetic. The tour didn’t end until close to 5pm so it was a long day but it was very interesting and lot to see. Make sure to have local currency for the shops and food as the smaller vendors do not accept credit cards. Overall a great experience!

Overall a good experience, the sites themselves were good and nice to get out of the city. The guide was a bit hit and miss - nice person and informative but quite repetitive, and fell asleep three times in transit. Guide only has one job, entertain the guests for the duration of the trip, so falling asleep was a bit disappointing. Bus was comfortable, duration itself (while day) was fine. Plenty of opportunities to find food and refreshments at each stop.

This day tour delivered what it claims. I booked a small group package tour via TripAdvisor. The tour agent provided a WhatsApp number and reply my query about pickup point immediately. Our tour guide Kevin was quite chatty and explained all the background of the places of interests. He offered to take photos at every locations. The cost of tour was reasonable, slightly lower cost would have been better. Admission fee for Yehliu Geopark and Chinese lantern flying (shared) was included but these are small cost. I will recommend this package tour for Taipei visitors.
