What an amazing experience! Captain, skipper, boat, drinks, tour, all top notch! Kinda felt bad for those on other boats because ours was so awesome! Thank you for a great evening!
Intimate and soulful, local experience that felt more like spending an evening with a friend than booking a tour. A refreshingly uncommercial way to experience Porto, guided by someone whose life has been intertwined with the river and the city. Raul is the reason we will come back to Porto!’
Fantastic journey on a lovely boat with a great and knowledgeable guide. Yummy port, too! A wonderful time.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate very well. But since we could not go a day later, Raúl drove just for us. And we were alone on the boat. We also changed the route a little, but that is exactly how we wanted it. It was great and we had a wonderful time.
Raul and his co-captain were so wonderful! My sister and I went on this river cruise and ended up being the only 2 for that time slot. They were so personable and we just chatted like we had already known each other. They shared a lot of history and fun facts throughout the ride, while also walking us through a delicious Port Wine tasting. The wine a views were immaculate! We even found out (through the incredible pictures that he took for us) that Raul is an amazing photographer! The boat was also extremely clean and spacious. 10/10 would recommend a river cruise with Mar Douro and Raul!
Such an intimate experience, I felt like I knew Anselmo for years. He was very knowledgeable about both cities. He made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend it’s a great way to explore the area via boat!
Beautiful, clean and comfortable boat, knowledgeable and kind captain, fabulous views (we even went out into the Atlantic to catch the sunset), and delicious port wine tasting. Loved the vibe of the smaller boat!
It was a great trip with Raoul and Isabel. The service on board was great. We were lucky enough to make the trip alone with our own family (3 people). They took all the time for photos (both turned out to be good photographers as well😊), knew how to tell background information about Porto and also had delicious port to taste.
This was a relaxing beautiful boat ride up the Rio Duro under 6 bridges with a chance to taste 4 port wines, which were all delicious. Our captain and Isabelle were absolutely delightful and so knowledgeable about Porto. On the way back it was windy and they had blankets to keep us cozy on deck. It was just a wonderful 2 hour tour. We highly recommend this if you would like to see Porto from the water.
This was an amazing experience from start to finish. Captain Raúl was engaging, enthusiastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. His apprentice Ruben did a great job of keeping us hydrated with a lovely selection of ports! Our fellow guests were really lovely also. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to gain some history of the Douro river whilst drinking lovely port wine.
