O edifício mais famoso de Sintra é o Palácio da Pena. Construído na década de 1840, no topo da colina, pode ser facilmente visto de Lisboa e é um dos palácios mais fantásticos da Europa. O palácio é um Património Mundial da UNESCO e uma das sete maravilhas de Portugal. Este palácio é uma referência máxima da arquitectura romântica portuguesa.
Esta é uma das principais atrações turísticas de Sintra. Esta aldeia mágica com os seus extravagantes jardins neo-manuelinos, sonhados pelo designer de ópera italiano Luigi Manini, sob as ordens do magnata brasileiro das pedras preciosas e dos transportes, António Carvalho Monteiro, conhecido por Monteiro dos Millões.
O Palácio de Monserrate é uma bela casa senhorial do século XIX. Este palácio decorado de forma extravagante mistura os estilos arquitectónicos Português, Árabe e Indiano e é um dos edifícios mais bonitos de Sintra. O palácio foi encomendado por Francis Cook, um barão têxtil inglês, que usou a propriedade como um retiro de verão. Os terrenos do Palácio de Monserrate escondem especialistas e jardins exóticos com plantas não nativas. Este palácio é o menor dos três palácios de Sintra, mas é de longe o mais decorativo e bonito.
No ponto mais ocidental da Europa, onde a terra termina e o mar começa. A Serra de Sintra aqui abruptamente encontra o Oceano Atlântico num penhasco de mais de 100 m de altura. O cabo é varrido pelo vento, e mesmo no meio do verão pode ser frio o suficiente para uma jaqueta ou suéter. Quando o tempo permite, as vistas do penhasco são de tirar o fôlego.
Localizada numa falésia na costa de Lisboa, perto de Sintra, a Azenhas do Mar é uma das praias mais apreciadas e emocionantes da Europa. Por causa das incríveis vistas que oferece, continua a ser um destino turístico popular no inverno e no verão. Dá-lhe a oportunidade de admirar o grande Oceano Atlântico em todo o seu esplendor. Com casas brancas empoleiradas no North Slope e uma extraordinária piscina escavada na rocha.

Antonio was a great guide for the day. We visited all main Sintra sites in the morning and headed to Cape Cabo and a fantastic beach in the afternoon. It was so easy being driven around on the private tour as we could spend time where we wanted. Would recommend beating the crowds via this way of touring. Make sure you check when and where to book palace and other areas prior to the tour.

This is a good option for those who have a sense of what they would like to see and don’t need/want a guide to tell them about the sites you see. Mostly, this was an extremely convenient and personalized ride service - where you didn’t have to worry about how to get to the next site and you had great help navigating where to purchase tickets for the site.

We really enjoyed the ‘full-day’ tour of the entire Sintra area with Classic Sintra Tours. Although the historic area is crowded were given great direction from Antonio our guide and driver for the day and he told us where to go and what to visit so as to maximise our experience. The 5 lakes of the Pena Palace is a great place to start and walk up to the Palace in the cool air and shade. (Especially if it’s hot) Start early! The admission fee for the Palace was 12 EUR each and as there are many renovations inside and to keep your time, we felt an inside tour unnecessary. The views from the top are great. We also had a timed ticket for the Quinta da Regaleira and we walked there from the old town. The visit was well worst it, stunning. Antonio was very relaxed and informative and made our day very pleasant. Great local understanding and personalised service.

Antonio was a superb personal tour guide! Born in Sintra, he knew the whole area in detail and was keen to share it with us. He gave helpful explanations about which walking routes to take at the castle, palaces and seaside locations and kept us on schedule without ever making us feel rushed. The lunchtime recommended restaurant suited our food preferences perfectly. We packed an awful lot into our day and were so grateful for Antonio's flexibility, which made it truly a day to remember always! Highly recommended.

During our full day tour, we had the opportunity to choose exactly which sights we wanted to explore. Our tour guide, Antonio, was familiar with the area which made the experience feel seamless and personalized, ensuring we could see as many sights as time allowed. The vehicle was simple but comfortable and well-suited for the tour. During our visit, his familiarity with the area proved especially helpful, as the region was still recovering from several storms that had closed some routes to certain sights. One memorable moment was when we asked for a beachside spot for fresh fish—he led us to the perfect gem, Nortada Restaurant in Colares. With stunning views and delicious food, it was the ideal addition to an already unforgettable day. My friends and I truly had an incredible tour. Highlights? The Initiation Well at Quinta da Regaleira and the grounds, Monserrate Palace and beautiful grounds (really liked their little outdoor/indoor cafe), National Palace, and exploring the Cabo da Roca area with our picturesque lunch spot Something we would do differently? nothing comes to mind

We had the most wonderful day with Antonio. Six of us took the train from Lisbon and met Antonio outside the station.
