Our full day with Tiago was a total breeze from the gorgeous places to the perfect weather. He was able to highlight the best of both places by showing us off beaten paths! What a gem!
I think that this was the highlight of our Europe, vacation! Our tour guide was just the best!! he even had blankets for us in the jeep. In case we got cold, which we did because it turned out being a rainy day in Sintra. We had so much fun and highly enjoyed all of the places that he took us to. I think that this is a much better way to see the attractions then on a big bus. I highly suggest if you have time that you book this particular tour with this particular guide. He had a lot of good history information, and made the tour fun for myself and my daughter! Cannot say enough, good things about this day!
Tiago was a wonderful guide. Highly recommend. Very knowledgeable and fun. He customized the day for us. Stress free way to see Sintra and the surrounding areas.
Tiago was a great host to his town. He was very knowledgeable, thorough and charming. His vehicle was cool, we hit all of the highlights. We highly recommend!!!
Tiago was very responsive and easy to coordinate with. Andre was a great guide and driver. Great way to see a lot in a short and un-rushed time.
Take this tour! Before booking I had sat down and compared all the various tours by different companies and what each one offered compared to the next. Let me save you the trouble of your own spreadsheet, book with Tiago! The value paid for what you receive is exceptional. See all the same sites as the other tours plus a few extraordinary extras owed to the fact that you are taken about in a vintage 4x4 that can sneak into some rough terrain that cannot be accessed by tuktuk. From our first contact with Tiago before having even booked he was so quick to respond and thorough in answering all of my inquiries. This continued to be how he operated as we prepared for our trip and even afterward as he wished us well. Tiago is an absolute gem who so obviously LOVES where he comes from and is as local as it gets. He shared so many details of the area and sights that often looped back to small stories from his childhood. He was a spectacular guide, full of information, knew exactly where to stop on every turn and roadway to ensure you got the best views and never rushed us. As we arrived Tiago was just prepping the Jipe for our day of adventure, taking off the canvas roof so we could enjoy the views in every direction. Seriously! You will miss so much if you choose a tour that doesn’t have an open rooftop. He treated us with a tasting of sweets local to Sintra and then we were underway. When stopping at Pena Palace we only did the gardens and found that to be more than enough as the exterior is spectacular! Make your way around the entire palace and up every staircase for different views and photo ops. Be sure to follow Tiago’s instructions for entrance or you could easily end up in a long unnecessary line. Every view, every story, every beach made this day incredible. Be sure to take your time at Praia da Adraga and get down by the water to see the waves crashing into the rocks. It’s the perfect sand for writing if you want that “Portugal” sand pic with a stunning backdrop. One of the unexpected highlights was a bumpy adventure up to an amazing cliff that gave views over to Cabo da Roca and the cliff walk that Tiago led us on to show us where the crazy fisherman cast off the cliff and how they get down the cliff face to fish off the rocks in the sea. Crazy! Then over to an insane sinkhole with the sea crashing in underneath! Other than the fishermen we were the only people up there and it was amazing to be able to take it all in all to ourselves. Our favorite quote of the day that we hope to remember forever is Tiago explaining the walk to Quinta da Regaleira, “it’s a flat walk…well, it’s Portuguese flat” Lol!! Until you have spent time in Portugal you may not truly appreciate that sentiment but it is spot on! Also, if by this point you haven’t done a Ginja shot in a dark chocolate cup keep your eyes peeled on the walk to Quinta as you may see signs out front of the little souvenir shops offering them up for 1.50€ (a nice little pick me up on your “Portuguese flat” walk). If you aren’t familiar they are like having a maraschino cherry chocolate and are delightful! We cannot say enough good things about this tour or about Tiago. You will part ways with a smile and feel like it was great value and money well spent for all you got to see, hear and experience throughout the day under his guidance. Would highly recommend him to anyone!
We spent a full day touring Sintra, Cascais, and the coastline with Tiago, and if we could give more than 5 stars, we would -- the app wouldn't let us! Communication was excellent from start to finish, and one member of our group needed a slower pace, which Tiago accommodated seamlessly. One of our highlights was exploring the coastline with Tiago, who showed us a variety of beaches, from rugged surf beaches to calmer swimming areas. The off-roading was a real blast -- savor the ride and drink in the views because they are amazing!! We also enjoyed a wonderful oceanfront lunch at Nortada, and Tiago's knowledge of the history and culture brought sites like Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira to life. What stood out most, beyond the views and culture, was how comfortable and cared for Tiago made us feel throughout the day. His local knowledge, flexibility, professionalism, and genuine kindness created a personalized experience that simply isn't possible on a large bus tour. I would highly recommend Tiago to anyone visiting Portugal. This was the highlight of our trip and a day we will remember for years to come.
My husband & I had a wonderful day with T, & would highly recommend this tour & T, as your guide! The communication was fantastic re: meeting place, preferences, lunch options etc. The 4x4 was a fun experience, & we enjoyed T’s knowledge of the history & legends, in the area.
Our family went with Tiago on a full day tour recently, and it was such a wonderful experience! He was great at planning our day before we arrived, and was prompt at responding every time. We met him in Sintra and every part of the day was well planned and excellent. He was a great combination of letting us explore on our own and talking about the area. We went to Pena Palace and Quinta de Regaleria, then had lunch at a beautiful restaurant in Sintra. After lunch we went to the coast and saw some beautiful scenery, no busy spots at all, which was wonderful! Absolutely recommend anyone to take this tour!! Thanks Tiago!
We had a great tour with our guide, Tiago. He told us a lot about the interesting history of the area and took us to some great scenic views. He clearly knows the area well and is a kind and funny guy!
