Shirakawa-go, Onsen & Waterfall Hike Day Tour saindo de Takayama

We had a nice day traveling with Yama, and loved learning so much about Japanese life, history, and culture. We definitely avoided the crowds by getting to Shirikawago early and doing some more off the beaten track stuff, which was terrific. Do bring a bathing suit if you want to do the outdoor natural hotsprings onsen.

Excellent tour! Both guides were excellent., very knowledgeable and friendly. The group is small so very exclusive. The onsen they take you to is amazing and they leave room for schedule adjustments if you’re solo or in a small group. Definitely recommend

Superb excursion in three parts. First of all our driver / guide was perfectly on time at the meeting place and , as we were the only customers that day, he was by car very comfortable. He was a very nice and very competent guide answering all our questions whatever the field. Shirakawago alone deserves the experience: very typical , very well preserved. The hike was beautiful with a superb waterfall and beautiful trees. Finally we were able to experience an Onsen outdoors and surrounded by nature by a torrent , what a pleasure.

We had a very good day with Yama visiting Shirakawa-go and Takayama. He treated us very well and explained a lot of things about Japan and about the region. We really enjoyed the trip!!!!

Mr Yama is an excellent guide who introduces the history of Shirakawago well. He brought us to all the key locations in that area. After which, he brought us to view the waterfall. Throughout the journey, we are impressed with Mr Yama’s professionalism. He is friendly and respectful. On top of that, he is very patient as he waited for us a few times throughout the trip. I was guided on a hot spring tour. It was a memorable tour, guided kindly and courteously by Shirakawa-go, Hirayu-otaki, and Onsen, and it was a great tour to fully enjoy the time from morning to evening! I'm your recommended tour guide!

Tour guide Yama San was friendly and helpful , he has guided us for a wonderful trip throughout the journey especially along the way to visit the ‘big tree’ , it was an amazing experience throughout the hiking journey and grateful that finally be able to reach the destination of the ‘big tree’. The onsen experience in a public onsen with the local people also a very memorable moment .I will definitely recommend friends to experience this package whenever they visit Takayama .

Yama, our Japanese guide with good English, showed us around and drove us for a whole day. He knew a lot of interesting things to tell, responded to our wishes, answered all our questions and waited even in the evening when we wanted to make a stop in a natural onsen after Shirakawa-go and the hike to the waterfall and old tree. Even our two demanding teenagers found the long day beautiful. Definitely recommended and the perfect contrast after 3 days Tokyo. Thx Yama!

Despite the rain we had a great day with our lovely guide Yama, in our own private tour. We were picked up from our hotel in a comfortable family van. First we visited the beautiful UNESCO listed town of Shirakawa-go. Yama was very informative and guided us through the maze of streets in the village and its shrines. We then had a delicious lunch in a local restaurant and got to sample the area’s specialty, Hida Beef. After that we were driven to a lovely waterfall area. This was followed by a visit to an amazing natural onsen (hot spring) beside a river - a truly unique cultural experience for us all! We loved this so much that Yama took us to another onsen that was more traditional, with separate indoor and outdoor springs for men and women. It was so beautiful to be able to sit in the hot springs and gaze at the mountains. It’s like nothing we’ve experienced before!
