Sam was fantastic, really friendly and very knowledgeable. The experience itself was very smooth and staff were lovely. I forgot my portable charger and my phone was dead, a member of staff let me borrow theirs. Probably my favourite part of visiting Cambridge, I would definitely do it again😀
Be aware that there are different operators running these tours and unfortunately some come across professional at first but if you turn them down they get nasty (especially the smaller family run ones)… really disappointed at their behaviour - it was like I am in a market in marakech! the cost can be negotiated but paying around £15-20 per person is still expensive in my opinion - should not be more than £10 pp.
Fabulous way to see the historic Cambridge colleges. Our punters Eamon, was knowledgeable, friendly and expert at guiding the boat on a busy river.
I know this trip can be very engaging, interesting and entertaining because I've been before. Unfortunately this time our guide, even though nice when asked questions, overall preferred silence. A bit disappointing because it's actually overpriced if it was meant to just punting in silence down the river. The whole point is to hear about the Universities and bridges. Next time I'm in Cambridge I'll probably not risk going again
