Johann ensured perfect connection to the times and location of the cruise ship. Complete equipment: powerful electric bike, raincoat and raincoat. Without worry a very nice piece of the surroundings of Edinburg seen. Relaxed guidance and as much information as you like. You have to be able and willing to cycle 😉
Thank you so much!
My wife and I had a wonderful day with Johann, and Tartan Bike Tours. We chose the Freedom Tour, and the scenery did not disappoint. We took advantage of the hybrid bikes, which were in excellent shape (very important), and the hybrid capability made any hills we encountered much easier to manage (honestly, I felt like the overall route was downhill, so the hills weren't too bad). Johann is an excellent guide, and as traffic was lighter than expected, we started the morning with an unexpected stop to view the ruins of Linlithgow Palace. From there we headed further north and west. The bike tour was roughly centered around the village of Kingshouse, where we paused for a delightful lunch. The optional hike after lunch was steep, but the views of nearby Loch Voil were spectacular. Overall, it was a lovely day, and we would definitely recommend Johann and Tartan Bike Tours. We hope to take other of their tours in the future.
Thank you, I'm very happy to read your positive review of our Highlands bike tour. It was a pleasure showing you around. Hope to see you again soon!
We loved this tour! It was just Johann, my husband and me, so Johann was able to customize it for us. He made sure we had a full day adventure and were satisfied. He was prompt and picked us up in front of our accommodations, had a comfortable van and quality bikes. We decided on a route, and it was amazing - with lots of views of mountains, a loch, a mossy forest, and an old burial ground with stonework. Johann provided efficient instructions for cycling the route. He also offered some commentary at various points of interest and answered many of our questions about Scotland. He was delightful company, and we would book with him again in a heartbeat.
Everything about the Freedom bike tour was awesome! Johann picked us up at our hotel and off we went to the Trossachs National Park. Along the way he pointed out historical sites and answered many questions. We even got to see a hairy coo up close at a rest area. The e-bikes were in great shape and were easy to operate. The 30 kilometre ride was truly breathtaking. There were so many picture taking opportunities and Johann was quick to offer to take pictures of us. The ride was broken up by a lunch stop at a lovely cafe. It was a lovely day and I can’t recommend it enough. Make sure this is on your to do list in Edinburgh!
Thank you for your kind feedback. Im glad to hear you enjoyed your bike tour with us. It was a pleasure riding with you around the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. We hope to see you again very soon.
My husband and I spent 10 days in Scotland and our Highlands bike tour day with Johann was our favorite day of the trip. All the details were taken care of and we had a great day on the bikes. Comfortable transportation, a delicious lunch, and we learned so much. We would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking to have a fun day in the Highlands!
Absolutely incredible in every way! We had the best time and johann was awesome. The biking and scenery were amazing.
Thank you... I'm very happy you enjoyed the tour!
Johan was engaging and fun. We enjoyed our e-bike tour and recommend it. He was very kind as well- he drove to our hotel the next day to drop off a pair of sunglasses zi left on the tour. His use of his time to correct my mistake shows you what this personalized tour is like.
Thank you Marie, I'm glad you got the message about the glasses, it was really no problem. I hope you are home safe with happy memories of your time in Scotland
If a beautiful bike ride through gorgeous Highland countryside with a small group of new friends with a stress-free lunch at a lovely small-town bistro sounds like fun: Then this is the day trip for you. If sitting for 12 hours on a bus breathing other people’s body odors while intermittently stopping to take a picture of a house that was in a Harry Potter film is more your thing- don’t go on this tour. The choice is yours…choose wisely. I believe I did when I picked this bike tour. I had a blast.
Well said... what a great review of our Highland bike tour. Good to know our vehicle air fresheners are working properly 💐
Johann gave us a great tour. The bikes were top notch. He provided everything we needed including gloves for our cooler ride. He took us to a very quaint restaurant for lunch that had a variety of good options. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was very interesting to talk to. The scenery was beautiful and very peaceful. A great way to experience life beyond the city. Fully recommend.
Johann was our bike guide for the day and we knew when we met him, it was going to be a good day. We stopped a few times along the way at small towns and historic sites. Johann is a local, so he was able to give us the historic info and the interesting local folklore. It was a fun way to learn! The views on the van ride to the Highlands and Trossachs National Park Park were amazing. The bike trip was so much fun. We rode on an old train trail winding along the beautiful countryside. Even a drenching rain didn’t dampen our fun. We stopped at a local restaurant for lunch, warmed up and dried off a bit before starting on the second part of the bike tour which was equally fun. We would highly recommend this trip, especially with Johann!!
