We did the 4 hour war tour with Adnan, who fought in the 1990s war and is now a peace activist. He was thoughtful and informative, and we felt we got a much deeper understanding of the historical roots of the conflict and what happened in Sarajevo during the war. If you’re looking for entertainment, this is not the tour for you, but if you are interested in broadening your understanding of recent Bosnian history, my husband I highly recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that Adnan's personal perspective and knowledge helped you gain a deeper understanding of Sarajevo's recent history and the events of the 1990s. His commitment to sharing these experiences with honesty, thoughtfulness, and a message of peace is something we truly value. Your recommendation means a great deal to us, especially for travelers who are interested in learning about Bosnia and Herzegovina beyond the usual tourist attractions. Thank you once again for choosing Dream Balkans. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Dream Balkans Team
I would highly recommend this tour if you want to really start to understand the impact the 1990s war has had on this country. It is a long tour easy 10 to 12hrs, including several hours driving through the glorious Bosnian countryside. Before touring the former UN base near Sebrinica, this is not easy viewing, it is emotionally draining, not at all suitable for young children. Make sure when you book it you get the tour guided by a war veteran. Our guide Adnan, was an absolute star. Could not have had a more rewarding day. Ian & Mandi

This is exactly the kind of respectful and educational journey we aim to provide. We also really appreciate your kind words about Adnan — he will be very happy to know that his guidance made such a strong impression on you. Thank you once again for your recommendation and for choosing Dream Balkans. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards, Dream Balkans Team
It was a very worthwhile experience, driving 2.5 hours to town and visiting the memorial centre. The sandwich for lunch was delicious, Adnan was responsible, meticulously explained and told us about his war experience, very vivid. It was great value for money.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear you found the experience worthwhile and enjoyed the visit to the memorial center. It’s great to know you appreciated the lunch as well! Adnan will be especially happy to hear your kind words—his storytelling and personal insights truly make the tour unique. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again soon!Kind Regards. Dream Balkans Team
met at the office which is centrally located in the old town. our knowledgeable tour guide/driver gave a comprehensive overview of bosnian history before we reached potocari. there, we had around 3 hours at the museum, learning in depth about what happened in srebrenica and how 8,372 men and boys ended up ruthlessly executed in an ethnic cleansing. before we returned back to sarajevo, we visited the cemetery where the dead were buried. overall, had a great day tour with dream balkans

Adnan is without a doubt, the beset guide for this tour. As a war vet who participated in defending Sarajevo, he told our group many animated and deeply-personal stories about his time during the war. The trip itself is also educational as I learned a tremendous amount of history from the tragic period of time in BiH. This is a must-do if you are visiting Sarajevo
Thank you so much for this powerful and thoughtful review. We’re truly honored that the tour was such a meaningful experience for you. Adnan’s personal perspective and willingness to share his own stories from that time make this tour incredibly authentic and impactful. He will be deeply moved by your kind words. We’re grateful you found the experience educational and important. Thank you for your strong recommendation, it truly means a lot to us. Best regards, Dream Balkans TEam
This is such an important tour to take. I recommend it to everyone. Our tour guid Adis picked us up at the agreed location and drove us to Srebrenica. On the way he told us stories about the history of Bosnia, Yugoslavia and told his personal stories during the war and stories of his relative during the genocide in Srebrenica. He was very friendly and is full of knowledge. It’s a person we could listen to for days. During the drive he would point out locations where horrible things happened. At the museum another guide was waiting for us to tell us about the genocide. After that Adis took us to Srebrenica to tell us more about the town and we visited the cemetery. Endless graves, endless names. Very emotional, heartbreaking but as I said very important tour to take. As our Tourguide Adis told us at the end ‘it’s the least that we can do for the victims. I also want to point out that he is a great driver, drove very safe. Thank you for this experience Adis.
Dear Mirela Thank you so much for your powerful and heartfelt review. We are truly grateful that you chose to take this important tour and that it meant so much to you. Adis will be deeply touched by your words. Sharing personal stories and history—especially about such a painful chapter—is never easy, but it is incredibly meaningful. We’re glad his knowledge, honesty, and care helped make the experience impactful. Srebrenica is indeed emotional and heartbreaking, but as you beautifully said, it is an important journey to take. Thank you for recognizing the importance of remembrance. We truly appreciate your trust in us and your kind words about Adis. We truly hope to welcome you again on another tour in the future. Kind regards, Dream Balkans Team
During the winter off-season, I was the only person booked for the Srebrenica tour. But they didn't cancel—they gave me a full private tour instead. Our guide was a war veteran who lived through the events, and hearing real stories from someone who was actually there made the history incredibly personal and real. He explained everything with such detail and honesty—things you simply can't learn from books or documentaries. Walking through the memorial and hearing firsthand accounts brought a deep understanding of what happened there. Dream Balkan Travel handled this sensitive tour with the utmost respect and professionalism. If you're visiting Bosnia, this is an essential experience. It's heavy, it's emotional, but it's something everyone should witness. Thank you very much, Dream Balkan Travel! 🇧🇦

The trip from Sarayevo takes about 3 hours but it is worth if you are interested in the recent war of ex Jugoslavia. The hangar where the UN forces were located is now a museum with lots of pictures, objects that witness what happened at that time and you feel the sense of failure that humanity lived here. The cemetery is big as I remember I saw on tv at that time, but being there, in that landscape makes you feel astonished for the large number of dead people. Senat was a very good guide, he replied to all our questions and provided us with a lot of details, he who lived the war personally. Not to be missed!
Dear Sabrina, Thank you so much for sharing this thoughtful and moving review. We’re truly honored that your visit to Srebrenica was such a meaningful and touching experience. It means a great deal to us that the tour, the museum, and the cemetery helped convey the gravity of what happened and left such a strong impression. We’re especially grateful for your kind words about the guide and the depth of insight he shared from his own experiences. Thank you for your heartfelt recommendation and for taking the time to reflect on this important chapter of history. Best regards, Dream Balkans Team
Our visit to Srebrenica was deeply moving and very informative. Every detail was well-organized, and the sandwiches were excellent. Thank you for such a meaningful tour/ day

An absolute memorable trip, and as you would expect utterly humbling. The communication with the operator was great, but the overall best part of the tour was Adis. His experience, and willingness to share his personal stories really had a lasting impact on me, and provided immense additional context to the genocide and war.
Dear Jarred, Thank you very much for sharing your experience and for your kind words. We are truly grateful that the tour left such a meaningful impression on you. We’re especially pleased to hear your feedback about Adis. His knowledge, personal perspective, and willingness to share his own story are indeed what make these tours so powerful and deeply human. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to him — they will mean a great deal. Thank you for choosing us and for approaching such an important and sensitive subject with openness and respect. We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Warm regards, The Dream Balkans Team
