Our Santa Ynez All-Inclusive Wine Tour was absolutely amazing, and our tour guide, Peter, made the experience even more enjoyable! We also had the pleasure of meeting a lovely couple from England and Victor from California, which made the day even more memorable. We visited three beautiful vineyards and a charming olive and lavender farm, each with its own unique atmosphere. Throughout the day, we sampled at least 12 delicious wines, each beautifully aged in oak barrels and bursting with flavors ranging from fresh fruit to rich, blended spices. We spent about an hour at each stop, giving us plenty of time to relax, chat with the friendly hosts and knowledgeable wine sommeliers, and truly appreciate each winery. We took lots of photos, laughed, learned about the wines, and enjoyed every single moment. If you're looking for a fun, relaxing, and well-organized wine tour, I highly recommend this experience. Thank you, Peter, for an unforgettable day!
We had such a fun group and a perfect day weather wise.....Peter was a great guide, lunch was delicious...the wineries we visited were okay, I think for the price point, we could have visited a few that were a little more upscale.....all were pretty rustic, and I do like that versus the huge Robert Mondavi type wineries, but there are many smaller but more upscale in that area......highly reccomend!
Our guide, Johannes, was excellent. Also, really enjoyed the company of the other guests.
Tour guide friendly and knowledgeable, winery experience was wonderful. Driver drove well. Weather was great too
One of the best day tours we’ve done anywhere in the world, regardless of category. The wineries were excellent, the facilities were beautiful, and the experience included an unexpected highlight: a behind-the-scenes winery tour capped off with a barrel tasting straight from the source. A special thanks to our driver, Johannes, whose knowledge of the Santa Ynez Valley, local wineries, and winemaking was outstanding. He went above and beyond throughout the day and played a huge role in making the tour so memorable. Highly recommended!
Ricardo was a excellent tour guide. Just loved all the wine 🍷 tasting. The lunch was outstanding. I highly recommend this tour.
We chose this based on the wineries Viator told us we were going to. (I contacted several wine touring companies to find out and based our decision on what I was told.) We only went to one winery that was listed in my communication between myself and the person I chatted with from Viator. Sunstone was recommended to us so we were hoping to get there. When Johannes picked us up, he listed the 2 wineries and one tasting room we would visit. We were disappointed to hear that Sunstone was no longer on the list. I mentioned to Johannes that we were told we were going to Sunstone. He immediately went on the defensive and aggressively scolded me in front of an entire van of strangers. I was beyond embarrassed. He pretty much just ripped on Sunstone winery saying it was for instagrammers and the wine was not good. He sarcastically said he would drop us off there while he took the others to the better winery. His reaction was not necessary. It could have been handled so much better. Every single person in our group told me later that they felt terrible for the way I was treated and they were also extremely put off by his defensiveness and the amount of time he took to school me in front of everyone. That aside, we wanted to make the most of our day. The first winery was Gainey. It was pretty and the wine was pretty good. What we didn’t like was the HARD sales push. We’ve been to over 100 wineries and I get they like to sell memberships but this was so extra and not enjoyable at all. With every single taste came a huge sales pitch. We were all just looking at each other by a certain point. The 2nd stop was a tasting room. We can go to tasting rooms any time. We were hoping for 3 real wineries. The last stop was Vega. We very much enjoyed our tasting, the winery and visiting with Al (the gentleman who poured our wine). The wines were very good. All in all it was a great day. Johannes was very nice after the initial aggression but that just left a bad taste in my mouth. We were very lucky to have a great group of people and we all got along very nicely which made for a lovely afternoon.
All three places that we visited were nice and friendly, and the best wines were in the second location - which was a store and not a vineyard.... Lunch in a vineyard was promised, but we ended up with a cold sandwich in a wine shop! Disappointing. The two vineyards that we did visit offered their own menus and had beautiful surroundings to sit around in. Could we suggest that the lunch venue be moved to an actual vineyard and not a shop? But keep the shop on the tour because they had the best wines!
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear you enjoyed all three tasting locations and that the wines at our second stop stood out as a highlight of your day. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify our tour format for future guests. Our Santa Ynez Wine Tour includes three hosted wine tastings, and sandwiches are pre-ordered from the Paninos menu prior to the tour. Guests select their individual choices in advance, allowing us to have meals prepared and ready at one of the tastings during the day while maximizing time at the wineries and tasting rooms. We understand that some visitors prefer to enjoy a full lunch service at a vineyard. For guests seeking that experience, our Wine Country Shuttle may be a better fit. With the shuttle option, tasting fees and lunch are paid directly by the guest, while the tour price covers transportation. We appreciate your suggestion regarding the lunch location and will certainly take it into consideration as we continue evaluating and refining our guest experience. We're delighted that you enjoyed the wineries and especially the wines at our second stop, and we hope to welcome you back to Santa Barbara wine country again soon.
We went on this tour but the wineries were much better this year! They were much more picturesque! John, our guide, was full of knowledge about the area. He had a very positive vibe everyone appreciated. The wineries are far apart so I highly recommend this tour. Lunch was also great!
Our Guide Peter was amazing. We all had a great time and plan on doing it again next year with the same group and will request Peter again. AMAZING DAY
