Para o final visita Mr Sloth Coffee Shop onde você vai encontrar cafés gourmet e chocolates, neste lugar especial de degustação e aprender a preparar Café Chorreado, desfrutar de degustação de café, caldosa tradicional, tamal cozinhado por famílias locais e envolto em uma folha de banana, fazer seu próprio plantain empanadas com queijo, experimentar nossa famosa Agua de Sapo fazer com gengibre, cana-de-açúcar e limão.

Começamos no Monumento de los Presentes, onde apresentaremos o passeio discutindo como a cidade e sua cultura resistiram a muitas mudanças. O monumento em si personifica os habitantes típicos da cidade, que correm o risco de desaparecer devido à modernização. Essas figuras permanecem firmes, sérias e representam uma rebelião silenciosa contra as mudanças radicais ao seu redor, simbolizando a resiliência e a preservação da identidade diante da transformação.
--- Visitaremos o Mercado Borbón, também conhecido como Mercado das Carretas, onde famílias locais vendem com orgulho frutas e vegetais frescos há mais de quatro gerações. Este mercado movimentado é um pilar da comunidade, oferecendo uma janela para a vida diária de vendedores que transmitiram seus conhecimentos e tradições ao longo dos anos. Visitaremos a histórica Catedral de San José, cujas origens remontam a 1788. A catedral, construída em estilo românico, apresenta belos detalhes arquitetônicos e uma atmosfera serena. Inclui uma visita ao hall de entrada do Teatro Nacional da Costa Rica. No coração de San Jose, o Teatro Nacional (Teatro Nacional) continua sendo uma das atrações turísticas mais populares da capital.” O ornamentado teatro neoclássico é considerado o melhor edifício histórico de San Jose e é conhecido por seu interior requintado, decorado com móveis luxuosos e belos murais.
Visitaremos o Mr. Sloth Coffee Shop e subiremos para o segundo andar, onde você desfrutará de uma refeição caseira com tamales feitos de receitas coloniais antigas, preparadas com carinho por uma família local. Você também terá a chance de saborear pratos únicos, como ceviche de banana, ceviche guanacastecan ou ceviche pejibaye — comidas pré-hispânicas autênticas. This is a wonderful and insightful tour, and provides a great introduction to central San Jose. I was pleased to not only see the well-known Public Market, but also the nearby Mercado Borbón, an authentic market for the locals and a non-commercial (no souvenirs) experience. Our tour included sampling fruits and explanations about how Ticos prepare and eat them. t the Sloth Coffee House, we also were able to eat a traditional Costa Rican pork tamale and prepare our own sweet dessert. A great experience packed into just a few hours!

We had a fantastic time with Marcelo on this tour. Tried several exotic (to me!) fruits at the farmers market and he was so informative about origins and history. The walking portion past several National monuments was interesting. We ended at Mr Sloth with local dishes and coffee. Exceeded my expectations. A great way to spend the morning.

It’s a very insightful tour from seeing how everyday locals go about their day to day lives. Seeing the markets, cathedral and theatre are very nice. Also learning about the fruits and coffee. 👍🏾

Wear comfortable shoes since you are literally walking or standing for almost the entire tour. Our tour guide Angel was excellent-he was upbeat, friendly, inclusive & had a positive vibe & energy about him. He is very proud of his country & was happy to share its history as well as answer questions. His biggest flex in my opinion was his hand hygiene-especially important because he was cutting up & serving all of the delicious fruits to us. I told him I was going to specifically mention that because of my healthcare background & we all talked about it-so A+ to Angel!!
