incredible day exploring all the gems of Smarkand! we had an easy pick-up (perfectly on time) & drop off to & from the train station & our guide was there to meet us as soon as we arrived. It was a LONG day, but well worth every minute!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted you had an incredible day exploring Samarkand with us. It was a pleasure having you, and we hope to welcome you back to Uzbekistan someday! 🙏✨
We had a wonderful day exploring Samarkand! Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable, and all hotel transfers went smoothly. The only issue was that our return high-speed train seats were separated across three different cabins, which was tricky with young kids. Be sure to confirm your seats are booked together for both legs of the trip. Other than that, highly recommended!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear that you had a wonderful time exploring Samarkand and that you enjoyed our guide's knowledge and enthusiasm. It's also great to know that all your hotel transfers went smoothly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience with the return train seating. During busy travel periods, the railway system sometimes assigns available seats separately, even when we request them together. We always do our best to secure adjacent seats, especially for families with children, but unfortunately this isn't always within our control. Thank you for your understanding and for recommending us. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you and your family back to Uzbekistan again in the future! 😊
Wonderful trip. Good communication all through. We were picked up from out hotel and we boarded a fast train to Samarkand. Our guide Mohigul was very good. She took us around and told us about the history and about the culture and society of Uzbekistan. We were put on the fast train and Ali was waiting to drop us back to our hotel. Samarkand really deserves an overnight trip but this was very good. Recommend the company and our guide, Mohigul.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and kind recommendation! We're delighted to hear that you had a great experience and that everything—from the hotel transfers to the high-speed train journey—went smoothly. We're especially pleased that Mohigul made your visit to Samarkand memorable with her knowledge of Uzbekistan's history, culture, and traditions. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to her and to Ali—they'll both be happy to know they helped make your trip enjoyable. We completely agree that Samarkand deserves an overnight stay, and we hope you'll have the opportunity to return and explore even more of this beautiful city in the future. Thank you again for choosing us. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Uzbekistan! 😊
The communication with Ali, was very easy and the train tickets arrived on time, as did th pick up driver. Moha met me in Samarkand and the group tour ended up as just me - which was fantastic. The tour and lunch were superb with interesting facts and stories and then back to the train station for the return - where Ali again met me and organised transport back to the hotel. A perfect day out - well done!
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted that you enjoyed your tour and that Gul made your experience memorable. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Uzbekistan again soon! Best regards, GoToUzbekistan Team
The owner of the company is very rude and the car used is just a Yandex rather than a premier car. The tour itself in Samarkand by the young lady was well done, but the tour operator owning the company was very rude and until I mentioned the ticket he provided me for the train was Economy rather than Business as what was promised, he didn’t refund me. Only after I pointed it out, did he give back cash.
Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely appreciate your kind words about our guide in Samarkand. We are sorry that some aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify that the difference in the train ticket class was not intentional. As soon as you informed us that you had received an Economy Class ticket instead of Business Class, we immediately refunded you the full price difference in cash. Regarding the vehicle, our transfer service was provided as booked and met the transportation requirements of your tour. We are sorry if it did not match your personal expectations. We also regret if our communication came across as rude. That was never our intention, and we always strive to assist our guests professionally and resolve any issues as quickly as possible. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us continue improving our service.
Mokhigul was an incredibly informative guide! The day was pretty nonstop- but she was also happy to let me stop & take pictures or shop if I wanted to as well. Yes, you are on your own for the train- but it is very straightforward & explained well by guides
Thank you so much for your kind review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your day with Mokhigul and appreciated her knowledge, flexibility, and guidance throughout the tour. We're also glad the train journey was easy to navigate with our instructions. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Uzbekistan again soon! 😊
Fantastic tour of Samarkand, starting in Tashkent. I have a huge appreciation of the history of this region and the city, and our tour guide Gul did an amazing job informing us. Each of the sites we saw was gorgeous as well. Every step was nicely executed. The high-speed train and good coordination makes this journey easy.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted that you enjoyed your tour and that Gul made your experience memorable. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Uzbekistan again soon! Best regards, GoToUzbekistan Team
Overall pre trip communication was good and transport worked well in Tashkent and in Samarkand (hotel pick up and drop off and train tickets). Saw all the main sights in Samarkand. However, the guide was very disappointing. he was the 16 year old son of the driver. He tried his best but he was not able to provide much information like the other guides. So, missed a lot of contextual information which would have explained better about the importance of Samarkand and the beautiful buildings I saw during the tour as well as the historical context. Did not have a professional guide and indeed the tour highlights do not mention a professional guide, just a guide. So if you are looking for a tour of the main sights of Smarkand without much context then this tour is fine. If you are looking for more context, probably select another tour.
Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We're pleased to hear that our pre-trip communication, transportation, hotel transfers, and train arrangements all met your expectations. We sincerely apologize that the guiding experience did not meet the standard you were expecting. Your comments are very important to us, and we understand how valuable historical context and detailed explanations are when visiting a city as remarkable as Samarkand. We will carefully review this matter with our local team to ensure we continue improving the quality of our tours. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us provide a better experience for future travelers. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back with an even better experience in the future.
The good: 100/10 for the tour of Samarkand, the most amazing city along the Silk Road and not to be missed. All logistics there were well taken care of including transport between the cultural sites and knowledgeable guiding. I enjoyed the lunch at a local plov restaurant. Train travel was ok but a little stressful on the way with the late pickup and a couple of hours wait for an unconfirmed ticket on the way back. The bad: no prior contact from the organisers and no reply to my messages. Confusing start time/pickup time. I thought I had been ghosted until a WhatsApp message almost an hour after I was expecting. If you decide to use GOTOUZBEKISTAN I suggest you make contact well in advance to avoid confusion.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Samarkand tour and that our guide, transportation arrangements, and local plov experience helped make your visit memorable. Samarkand truly is a special destination, and we're glad you had the opportunity to experience its rich history and culture. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the communication issues you encountered before the tour. We understand how frustrating and stressful it can be when there is uncertainty regarding pickup times and travel arrangements. Your comments are valuable to us, and we will use them to improve our communication process and ensure that future guests receive timely updates and responses. Thank you again for your honest feedback and recommendation. We appreciate your trust in GOTOUZBEKISTAN and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Uzbekistan in the future for an even smoother and more enjoyable experience. Stunning architecture. Tour guide was an expert in the history of the Silk Road as well as the evolving artistic elements that constitute Islam design.
