Due to an injury with another family member we were a few minutes late. They waited for us and I really appreciated that. The tour guide was fantastic. She was a private chef and not only shared her love of food with us, but her knowledge, tips, recipes and sent us on our way with restaurant tips for both Paris and our upcoming trip to Rome. Everything we tasted was amazing. I'm not a chocolate person usually but I found myself wanting more. Every sample was delicious and having the ability to taste several before committing to one was an extra perk I wasn't expecting. Definitely do this tour. You won't regret it.
Letty was a wonderful guide and the tour was outstanding!
If you want to experience all different sweets of Paris this is the tour for you ! It had a great variety of sweets plus the history of St. Germain area !
You definitely want to go on this tour. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the history of chocolate in Paris. He was so patient with us, and helping with directions after the tour was over. I really enjoyed all the places we visited on this tour.
The tour was a big disappointment. I picked this tour because I had read the reviews and they were glowing- everyone mentioned 1 of 2 guides both of whom were incredibly knowledgeable, fun and informative. We got someone who seemed very inexperienced and not very good at keeping the group engaged or informed. We learned very little about the area we walked through. The tour started off on a bad note. We had to wait 30 minutes for a late comer, even tho the rest of us were there 10 minutes early as the website and all the reminder emails had told us to be. then when we finally started, we had to wait again at the first store for the person who finally showed up 45 minutes late! The group was very unhappy at being put out for the irresponsible person who couldn’t be bothered to show up on time. when our displeasure at waiting was expressed, the guide didn’t have a response other than, I will call the late comer again? We also walked incredibly slowly, because there was one person in the group who was old and infirm. Why would you sign up for a 3 hour walking tour if you can’t walk? Again, there was a lot of grumbling by the group about the painful pace we had to keep, and the guide said, well, we have to walk at her pace. So all in all I would definitely not recommend this tour, and wouldn’t book with Get your guide again. The tasting were primarily of chocolate and they were good, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Dear Lauri, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. As this is a shared group experience, our guides occasionally allow a short grace period for late-arriving guests who are actively trying to reach the meeting point. Likewise, the pace of the tour must accommodate all participants, regardless of age or mobility, to ensure everyone can enjoy the experience. We are also disappointed that the guide's style did not resonate with you. All of our guides are trained to deliver the tour, though each naturally brings their own personality and approach. Thank you for sharing your comments, which we will take into consideration as we continue to improve our experiences. Kind regards, The OFT team
We learned a lot about France’s gourmet food scene and Pierre was outstanding and informative. We highly recommend him & the tour
Fantastic tour, well paced and excellent choices for stops. Emiline was incredible knowledgeable about the city and the stops. Three hours very well spent!
We had an excellent time on the Saint-Germain Original Chocolate Tasting Tour! After just a little confusion on where the meeting place was, we caught up with our guide Vence and the others on the tour. We started the tour in a pastry shop and proceeded on to taste meringues, macarons, chocolates, jams, and caramels. (Did I leave anything out?) The weather did not cooperate unfortunately and it started pouring rain. But our guide was very good about rearranging the order of places where we went, to try to keep us as dry as possible. Despite the weather, it was a lovely way to see Saint-Germain area of Paris and taste some delicious treats!
Really enjoyable tour, great guide who gave interesting information not just about food but also other stuff as we strolled around
This tour was filled with history of Paris and the origins of chocolate. It was informative and Rachel gave us a lot of tips for where to get the best options for chocolate, steak & frites, and more.
