The only tour that included the underground church. It was nice to learn about winemaking and how to taste wines. I was surprised how much the taste can change just because of the soil. The underground church was spectacular!!
The experience was wonderful.! The wine tour and the tour guide were great! The stop at St. Emilion was beautiful and educational. I would suggest the trip to all...
It was a bad experience cos almost 90% of participants on the tour were French speaking! No doubt the tour guide would give more info in French! It was grossly unfair!
Relatively large office de tourisme. Lots of information and documentation about attractions and sights in the region. Very friendly but also helpful staff who will sift through the best possibilities for you. Our thanks.
I booked a trip to Saint-Émilion nearby Bordeaux. The trip itself was well planned, but the guide was not very considerate and did not pay much attention to each individual. There was a lack of communication for those who could not understand French, and the introduction to the two selected châteaux was a bit dull. Overall, it was acceptable if you just want an easy way to travel without driving yourself.
We visited two Grand Cru Classe wineries, one offered tasty wines with lunch. A relaxing afternoon at St Emillion old town and we were given ample time to walk around. A nice day to explore this UNSECO town.
Chateaux personnel were informative. Choice of venues contrasted modern winemaking techniques with older traditional techniques. Exclusive access to Historical St. Emillon which itself has become quite touristy. Very disappointing tour guide. Our tour consisted of 7/8 English speaking guests and 1/8 French speakers (whom were bilingual) but the guide spoke mainly French throughout the trip with short cursory explanations of what she had spoken.
Dear Alan R., We thank you for your comment and are very sorry to read that the bilingual wine tour did not go as expected. In a quality concern, we sent your impressions to our professional guide. In the hope that we will have the chance to make your experience a better one in the future, Best regards
This trip was amazing! Beautiful views, gorgeous little village and delicious wine! Laurence, was faboulous! Very knowledgable and funny! She made the trip very interesting. This trip is "must do" when you're visiting Bordeaux! You will not regret it!
Sold as small group and English the group size was more than 15 and in 2 languages meaning we were staning on our feet twice as long. At least twice we just stood in same place for over 1.2 hrs. My feet were aching and this left less free time to explore. The winery lunch was tasty.
Really interesting day!! The two castles visited very beautiful and welcoming people. The guide gave us a lot of information, especially when we visited the village of Saint Émilion. It was a great experience!
