We had a great time on the trip and the spots we stopped off at were incredible. Particularly, the snorkelling spot on pink beach had the most incredible coral I had ever seen!! I also loved the vibe of the staff and would recommend getting a private room. I must add the whale sharks are fed, but this was an incredible way to get so close to these beautiful animals. I cannot say anything negative about the stops here, it was a once in a lifetime. I had not read on any comments or reviews previously, however, how rough the sea got. For 1.5 days of the trip the sea is very rough (I went beginning of August and our guide told us it is worst June-July). But I would just do research on this as there was so much sea sickness, and a lot of people couldn’t sleep etc. Was quite scary, so maybe just research the time of year you are going. I also heard there have been issues with other boats on the same trip previously due to rough seas and I am not surprised. So given the calm time of year, I wouldn’t hesitate to go!
Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and honest review! 🙏😊 We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the trip, especially the incredible coral at Pink Beach, the snorkeling spots, and the atmosphere with our crew. It’s wonderful to know that the experience felt like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. ❤️ We also really appreciate you mentioning the sea conditions. The waters between Lombok and Komodo can indeed become quite rough, particularly during certain periods of the year. Sea conditions are affected by weather and seasonal conditions, and unfortunately, they can be difficult to predict perfectly. We always recommend that guests check the expected conditions and prepare accordingly if they are prone to seasickness. Regarding the whale sharks, we appreciate you sharing your experience. We understand that seeing these beautiful animals up close is a very special moment, and we’re glad you enjoyed the encounter. Thank you again for recommending the trip and for your honest advice to future travelers. We hope to welcome you back to Indonesia for another adventure with Sukatrip! 🌊🏝️🐋

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and honest review. 🙏 We’re delighted to hear that you had a great time and enjoyed the incredible snorkeling spots, especially the coral at Pink Beach. We’re also very happy that you enjoyed the atmosphere and our crew, and we appreciate your recommendation regarding the private cabin. 😊 We especially appreciate your comments about the sea conditions. The Lombok–Komodo route is a long ocean journey, and sea conditions can sometimes become quite rough depending on the season and weather. Unfortunately, this is something that is beyond our control, but we always do our best to operate the trip safely and assist guests who experience seasickness. Your advice to future travelers to check the seasonal sea conditions before booking is very helpful. We also recommend that guests who are sensitive to motion consider bringing appropriate seasickness medication and preparing in advance. Regarding the whale sharks, we understand that some guests may have concerns about feeding practices. We’re glad that, despite this, you were able to appreciate the opportunity to see these magnificent animals up close. Thank you again for choosing Sukatrip and for your recommendation. We’re very happy that, overall, the experience became a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime adventure for you. 🌊🐋🏝️ We hope to welcome you back for another Indonesian adventure! 🙏
Always late, always hurrying. Useless boat. 1 gore bathroom instead of 4 nogranzig also
We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the experience. However, we would like to clarify a few points. Regarding the timing, our trips follow a fixed itinerary and schedule, and there can sometimes be delays due to weather, sea conditions, port procedures, or other operational factors. We understand that this can be frustrating, but it is not our intention to make guests feel rushed. As for the boat and facilities, we regret that the condition of the bathroom did not meet your expectations. We take cleanliness seriously and will raise this directly with our crew and boat operator. We respect your opinion, but we also believe that feedback is most helpful when it accurately reflects the circumstances. We will use your comments to improve the experience for future guests.

Thank you for your great review! We’re happy to have been part of your trip during your vacation in Indonesia. Warm regards, Sukatrip
Had a great time! Sure, the boat isn't luxurious and the beds are not super comfy, but the staff is wonderful, the food delicious and all the attractions amazing. I was staying in Tetebatu, so the owner suggested I come directly to the bangsal harbour (because that's where the boat starts, usually they transfer everyone from the meeting point by bus). Just beware - the whale sharks are lured with food. That's was the only thing I didn't like about the trip.
Hi, thank you so much for your feedback 😊 We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the trip, especially the crew, food, and destinations—that means a lot to us. Regarding the boat and facilities, we always try to be transparent that this is a budget-friendly trip, so it may not be luxury, but we focus on providing a great overall experience. About the whale sharks, we understand your concern. The local fishermen sometimes use traditional methods to attract them, which is a common practice in the area. However, we always make sure the activity is done safely and respectfully. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we truly appreciate your feedback 🙏
I didn’t expect this trip to be so enjoyable. For the first time in my life, I was able to see a huge whale shark, as well as the rare and massive Komodo dragons. I also swam with baby sharks, saw many kinds of fish, and enjoyed the stunning view from the top of Padar Island.
Thank you for trust us
We rarely post things like this, but this needs to be said about Sukatrip. We travelled across Indonesia for three days specifically for their whale shark experience, spending a total of 5,500,000 IDR between us. This wasn’t just another activity on our itinerary, it was the main reason for the trip. Unfortunately, the experience never happened. We completely understand that weather conditions are out of anyone’s control. What is not acceptable is that this was only communicated to us after we had already made the long journey, despite forecasts clearly being available in advance. This could and should have been handled far better. The organisation throughout was extremely poor. We were told to wake at 3am, only to sit around for hours waiting for updates, before eventually being told the trip couldn’t go ahead. We were then required to stay an extra night due to transport issues, which was not part of the plan. On top of that, travel times were massively misrepresented, with “5–7 hour journeys” turning into exhausting 12–14 hour days with barely any rest. We didn’t pay for long, uncomfortable travel days and basic accommodation. We paid for the whale shark experience and snorkelling, which we did not receive. We have requested a fair 70% refund to reflect this, but so far this has not been properly resolved. We’re sharing this so others are aware before booking. We would have much preferred to resolve this privately and positively, but the handling of the situation has left us with no choice. If you’re considering booking with them, we strongly recommend asking very clear questions upfront and getting full clarity before committing. We’re still open to resolving this directly and hope a fair outcome can be reached.
We sincerely apologize in advance. It’s not that we didn’t try to run this trip, but we were constrained by bad weather. It would have been impossible to find whale sharks in such strong winds, and we are also responsible for your safety. Regarding the payment of 5,500,000, we have already refunded 30%. Please understand that we also had to cover hotel and transportation costs—nothing was free and also you're book for whaleshark trip not komodo trip
