Lena was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and kept the group moving at the perfect pace. Sagrada Família is a must see!
Having heard about the crowds, I thought this would be the best option in the summer. There's a bit of confusion with several tour groups all meeting outside the KFC across from the Sagrada, and figuring out which tour is which. Other than that, it was good overall, and we did go through screening quickly. Lena is knowledgeable and shared the history of how the church came to be, how Gaudi got involved, and she pointed out many of the details he incorporated. The personal earbuds helped a lot. There was time after to wander around by ourselves. The only disappointment is that I thought there would be streams of light inside as in the promo image for the tour. Maybe it was the sky, or time of day (17:00) in August we were there, but it feels a little like false advertising that we didn't get that effect. Know that going in and you won't be disappointed.
I would never visit here without a tour guide. No waiting to get in, history and culture well explained, personal photos of us, and being the Golden Hour the inside was magnificent.
If you take the tour in august...its hot! But it was still worth it. You have to see it in person. Its impresive.
This cathedral is very breath taking and VERY crowded. It was just too busy to really be enjoyable at this hour. The tour guide was nice and skipping the line was nice but I think if I went again, I’d try to book something as early in the day as possible.
Hi Jennifer, thank you very much for your kind comments about me as your guide. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed my work. The Sagrada Familia is the most visited monument in Spain and, because of its enormous popularity, it is always very busy. What we can guarantee with our tour is that you avoid the long entrance lines. For this reason, I feel that receiving 3 stars because of the crowds is a little unfair, as this is completely beyond our control. Whether you visit in the morning or afternoon, almost every time slot is fully booked, even during the low season. I hope you can consider rating the tour and the guide’s work separately from the number of visitors inside the Basilica.
Jorge was an amazing guide. The best!
Jorge speaks excellent English while giving special attention to his guests. He gave us great insight into the history and currant state of the Sagrada Família. Highly recommended.
Rip off. The tour is advertised as the stained glass windows at the “magic” hour. Tour last 1hr 15 minutes, the first 50 minutes is spent outside of the building. This tour cost $285 for two people on the Viator site, it is a rip off. The guide was well educated and kind but the cost of the tour and what it advertised is not worth the expense. Disappointed.
Thank you for your feedback. However, we respectfully disagree with some points in this review. After speaking directly with Elena, she confirmed that approximately 25 minutes were spent explaining the façades, not 50 minutes. This is her regular itinerary and has received excellent feedback from many other guests. You booked and pay for a SMALL-GROUP experience limited to 9 guests, providing a more personal tour with an official licensed guide. Naturally, smaller groups come at a higher price than tours with up to 30 guests, sometimes with non-licensed guides. We respect your opinion, but we fully stand behind Elena’s professionalism and itinerary. She is one of our best and most experienced guides, and we are proud of the excellent feedback she consistently receives.
Jorge, the tour leader, was fabulous. JC Tours was extremely well organized. The tour was everything we expected plus more.
Tour itself very good but also VERY fast - lots to see and move through. Will need time after to look around and explore. Meeting point sort of on side street by kfc not between kfc and SF Lena was very nice and accommodating and her mic set up worked well. Although spoke fast so you’ve got to pay attention to follow along there was 5m of free time in middle to look around and ask questions Some pointers to take from 4 to 5 stars would be: point out a few special shots on the inside to capture the spectacular light with our cameras and perhaps even add 15m to the tour to get through the material and allow time for questions. Was 5/5 in terms of keeping up w group, size of group, bypassing ticket line and getting through security. Definitely recommend the museum after - was full of great info and the rope parabola model! Didn’t have time for the crypt but wish we did.
