Miguel was amazing from start to finish. Beautiful trip, very amenable and insightful. Would 100% recommend
We had a great full-day tour of the island with João. Very punctual pick-up and clean, modern vehicle and João was a fantastic, knowledgeable guide. We first went to the east side of the island to Furnas to see the smoking caldeiras which was totally impressive! We ate sweetcorn that had been cooked by the heat coming from the earth and tasted the fresh volcanic waters directly from the rocks! João also kindly arranged an impromptu visit to the hot springs for us (not included in tour price, 17€ per person). Then we went to the west side, stopping off at the tea plantation on route. It was a very cloudly day so views of Sete Cidades from the view points weren't really great, but it's weather so nothing you can do about that! But we had a nice lunch on on the banks of the lagoon and then went to some lovely swimming spots in the North-west of the island. A totally great day out and totally recommended. João is an excellent guide and will make sure you have a good tour whatever the weather!
The island can be a bit challenging to drive around on your own. So getting a guide for at least a day is a must do item. We were so lucky to find our guide Joao for our family trip. My wife and I used his service on our first day along with our 6 and 14 year old kids. The only regret we have is that we didn’t book him multiple days. He put together an itenerary for our family that gave us a great tour of the island and interesting spots. The experience went perfect and he made changes if we requested anything specific. It was a custom tour that catered to what we wanted and at the pace we wanted to go. We often times try to get a guide for a day at new locations and this one was the best we have ever had. So kind and enthusiastic about the island. It really made for a comfortable experience. He even gave us great recommendations for the other days we were on the island including some great places to eat. Thank you for a great experience.
Joao was an excellent tour guide. My family had a fun day on the island, from seeing breathtaking nature to having delicious pineapple ice cream. Joao was very knowledgeable about the island. We learned a lot. He was also great with kids! My family had an amazing day! Highly recommended!

Amazing time touring the island with Joao. He was very knowledgeable and personable and spoke excellent english. He adjusted the tour to meet our preferences and we saw all the highlights and a few hidden gems. I would recommend this tour for anyone looking for a personalized experience with a great guide.

Our guide João provided us with a wonderful time during this day in the western part of the island of Sao Miguel. He adapted to our needs and requests, showed us the main highlights of this section of the island, and made excellent recommendations for restaurants during our stay. Carlos was our driver and guide for a great day! He was so happy and kind and very proud to share his knowledge of the island, Portugal, sites and more. We had such a great time with him. The weather was too great- but we didn’t care as he showed us great places, even took us to swim in the ocean thermal Pools. So great. I highly recommend

João picked us up directly from the hotel, and due to the weather, we decided together to go to the east of Sao Miguel - Vila Campo de Franco, Furnas, Terra Nostra with bathing, Cozido for lunch, Nordeste, tea plantation, and a few hidden spots. João has incredible knowledge about history, backgrounds, life, nature, plants, and animals… We learned and saw a lot. Thanks also for the restaurant tips for Mosteiros and Ponta Delgada - both were great meals… If you have time and want a good guide, book with João…
