Our tour with Henry was fantastic. He curated our stops based off our wishlist, and suggested alternatives as some of the viewpoints were not visible due to weather. Despite the weather, Henry was fantastic and had no shortage of facts about the history of the island, answering all our questions and educating us on the way. I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out with whatever timetable you have- Henry was accommodating and would be fantastic for anything from a half-day to a multi-day tour.

What a fabulous private tour we experienced in Sao Miguel! Pedro was our guide and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was prompt, polite, constantly planning and very knowledgeable and informative. The weather in Sao Miguel was challenging, as we encountered light rain, clouds and extreme wind. Pedro planned our route for the day based on what he thought would be the best weather conditions in the particular areas. Of course there are no guarantees, but following his instincts we felt we had great views with limited cloud cover and uncrowded popular sites in our tour of the island. As we began the day I presented Pedro with a list of the places I really, really wanted to visit. I also showed him another list of places I thought would complete our itinerary if he thought they were worthy and if we had time. Not only did we complete 90% of my two lists (some sites were closed or otherwise not available); he included or exchanged some of the places on my lists for better views! The history and information that Pedro shared helped us to know and understand Sao Miguel a lot better. The private tour is definitely the way to go. And Pedro is definitely the best!

Andrea picked us up promptly and was a superb driver in a Mercedes minivan. She was extremely informative and incredibly pleasant. Hit all the high spots of central San Miguel, Furnas, geothermal, pools, overlooks, and an incredible lunch. Highly recommend her.
Henry was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. Hotel pick up is simple. Half plan your day but let the local expert do the rest!
I must have been on a different tour than the rest of you. My tour was 8 hours not 9. It was in a busted up van, ripped seats with stuffing coming out, manual transmission on those hills? Anyway, I guess I expected a lot more for the price of 300 euro. I expected background history of the island, its economy, etc. not just views
What an amazing day! Miguel was our guide for the day, and we can’t say enough good things. Our cruise was hours late to arrive, but no problem, Miguel was there waiting for us. He took us everywhere we wanted to see, and threw in a few extra note worthy spots. Highly recommend!
