A friend recommended this tour to me, and I'm glad I listened! Rossyln Chapel was so charming, and we enjoyed Hadrian's wall, too. We loved the walk through the herd of sheep on our way to the wall and enjoyed the free time we had to explore the grounds. I could have used more time at Rossyln Chapel, but the day was already quite full. There were additional stops that broke up the drive, and our tour guide Roddy was terrific. This was advertised as a smaller group tour, and indeed it was. My husband and I agree that this tour was one of our favorite days of our two-week trip to the UK. Definitely recommend!
Hi Judy, thanks for booking our day trip to Rosslyn and Hadrian's Wall and taking the time to review Roddy.
Our guide, Roddy, really knew the area. He knew the sights along the entire way, and the stories behind them. He was very entertaining.
Thanks for your kind words about Roddy. It's great to hear you enjoyed the day so much.
Roddy was a fantastic host & he was full of facts & stories. Highly recommend this company & this trip!
Hi, thanks for choosing Heart of Scotland Tours and taking the time to review Roddy.
My husband and I included this day tour as part of our honeymoon and the trip did not disappoint! Along with stopping at breathtaking sights, our driving and tour guide Calum was an insightful storyteller who graciously shared his wealth of knowledge as we rolled through the beautiful green landscape. His passion for art history and ecology shined through and he contextualized our journey in a poetic and accessible way. We even walked away with fantastic book recommendations! A memorable day!
Hi Rachel, wow this is a lovely review. Calum will be chuffed. Thanks.
We traveled on 10/06/2026 to visit Roselyne Chapel and Hadrian’s Wall. The guide of that day was a truly friendly and welcoming lady named Angela who guided and accompanied us in an extraordinary and professional way during this wonderful day. We loved the trip and lived a very pleasant and special moment on this journey through history. I recommend without hesitation!!
This is a long drive all the way to Hadrians Wall. Rosslyn Chapel was beautiful. The scenery is beautiful but just a lot of time in the bus.
Hi there, thanks for your review. The tour is a total of 10.5 hours but we do our very best to make as many stops as possible. A small group of around 12 passengers makes this a lot easier.
Wonderful day. Every stop was great. We really enjoyed Hadrian's Wall. We were able to walk along the wall to see the nearby Mile Castle too! Our tour guide was excellent!
Sounds like a fab day on the Wee Red Bus! Thanks for joining us.
The two main sites we visited were very interesting and informative. Our driver Calum was exceptional, providing lots of information and suggestions as well as ensuring that all of us were well looked after. He kept us on time and was even able to throw in a couple of extra stops with exceptional views. His love and enthusiasm for his country, its history, and art were evident in everything he shared and showed us.
Hi Ross, thanks for joining the tour and reviewing Calum and Heart of Scotland Tours
Keith was an excellent tour guide/driver. He was very knowledgeable of the countryside and history and had a great sense of humor as well. I also appreciated that it was a smaller group size. Have already and will continue highly recommending this tour company and specifically Keith to friends visiting Scotland.
Wonderful, thanks so much for continuing to recommend Keith and Heart of Scotland Tours
This was an awesome tour! Saw a lot, learned a lot, only got rained on a little. 😅 Our guide was amazing and had very helpful recommendations for things to see/do, places to eat, etc. Of the 3 tours we took, this was our favorite day and best company/guide. A must-do! Some of this route was a twisty, hilly ride, so my only note is for those probe to car sickness - sit towards the front and be prepared with whatever calms your tummy.
Hi Rebecca, thanks for joining us on the day trip to Rosslyn Chapel and Hadrian's Wall. 'Off the shelf' travel sickness pills are never a bad idea if you're not used to narrow roads...
