Roma: Museu do Vaticano e Capela Sistina

I had booked a 10:30 reserved time for 4 guests into the Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel, and we basd our day around this reservation. I timely received a confirmation, a repeat confirmation the night before, as well a a voucher indicating I had 4 tickets for 10:30 am. When I arrived to the office to get our tickets, I was told our time was moved to 11:30am with a very vague explanation of why. I repeatedly showed the agent my booking, text messages, emails, and voucher with the 10:30 confirmation. He offerd no reasonable explanation as to why he could not provide what I purchased, only that "it was changed". I explained we would then miss our next ticketed event at 1:30PM, and his answer was "oh, you only need an hour for the Vatican Museum and Sistine chapel, you'll be fine". HA. Fat chance. Not only did we not want to rush through our time there, we would never be able to move through the crowd and line that quickly if we tried. We subsequently spent additional money then rebooking our 1:30 commitment to a later time, otherwise we would have missed this as well. Additionally, this left us with over an hour waiting out side in 97 degree weather until our "new" ticketed time had arrived. My advice - book direct through the Vatican so you get what you need. It seems as though this company overbooks times and then changes you with no notice to their conveneince. As i mentioned, my most recent confirmation of the 10:30 ticketed time I purchsed was received the evening before. No notice of change whatsoever. Do not recommend.

Long lines and over crowded The ticket pick up was over complicated and our booking was change by one hour without notice

Too expensive through Viator! Half the price if you buy tickets at the Viator pick up location!. The museum is fantastic

Be carful when they list stops of a tour and a length of time of a tour. Then they tell the you that you’ve only paid for entry and no guide on the tour.

Absolute worst reseller I have experienced. They stranded me with my child and laughed in my face. I am shocked this seller meets Viator standards.

The museums and Sistine Chapel were amazing. Highly recommend. I only gave three stars because the third party operating the tour/tickets for us tried to move my reservation time earlier by a half hour. When I said no to this offer (they called 30 minutes before we would have had to be there, and there was no way we’d make it in time), I specifically asked that my pre-reserved time that I paid for was still valid, and they wouldn’t give me a yes or no answer u til I asked the third time. Then, when we got there, the tickets they printed out for me were for an hour later than my paid reservation AND were with an Italian speaking tour guide (we do not speak Italian). As I said, the actual museums were great, but the third party used by Viator here was unreliable and caused us to wait longer than we were supposed to (we bought skip the line tickets) and in the heat.

Viator messed up the booking. We amended the time slot from 11 am to 10 am, but the tour company couldn't process the change because ultimately Vatican doesn't allow such changes. Tour company Royal was honest about it though.

Easy to navigate. Tickets were ready on arrival. Short walk from ticket pickup to the Vatican. We enjoyed the 530 late option.

Does not include St. Peter’s Basilica- you must purchase this in your own. I didn’t realize this when I booked.
