Worth the visit. The house and the way he lived and taught was very interesting.
This was great interactive exhibit. The audio guided tour was great and easy to navigate through the house. I learned a lot about Rembrandts life. I was able to see his art collection.
A really pleasant experience. Lovely staff.
Thank you for your kind review! We're so pleased to hear you had such a pleasant visit and enjoyed the warm welcome from our team. We truly appreciate your recommendation and would be delighted to welcome you back again.
This was an outstanding immersive experience. Definitely choose the free audio guide. The house content is restored based on the detailed catalog of the inventory of each room, prepared for the auction of Rembrandt’s estate.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted that you found the experience so immersive and enjoyed discovering Rembrandt's home through the multimedia guide. It's great to hear that the historical details of the house added to your visit. Thank you for recommending the Rembrandt House Museum to fellow Rembrandt enthusiasts!
Hats off to this lovely look at Rembrandt’s life. I had just finished a group tour of another site in Amsterdam and saw on my map that the museum was about a 10 minute walk (I walk slowly) away. Who wouldn’t want a peak at Rembrandt’s life? The museum staff was wonderful. English is spoken throughout the building and staff, from the ticket counter to the docents, were extremely helpful. I was able to get the tour commentary through my hearing aids via a phone app. No one pushed you through the exhibits. When I realized my phone was dying, the young lady at the ticket counter let me charge my phone at the counter. She also noticed that a bandage on my hand was coming off so she quickly got out the first aid kit and gave me 3 “blisters” as she called them. Now that’s service. The museum is equipped with a lift to bring you down from the top floor.
Thank you for sharing such a lovely and detailed review! We're so glad you enjoyed discovering Rembrandt's life and felt so well looked after by our team. It's wonderful to hear that the accessibility options also helped make your visit more comfortable. Thank you for your kind words about our staff and for taking the time to share your experience!
Tour done without a reservation and with the Amsterdam City Pass. The tour was pleasant but one point bothered me with the audio guide: at the beginning it was good, the French version of the audio guide was normal, the comments not too long. But towards the end and for the temporary exhibition, the audio guide became useless, all the comments were in English. So either I had an issue with my guide/audio guide language, or it should be specified from the start that the audio guide only works in its language for the permanent exhibition. It kind of ruined the end of my visit, even though I also understood English. To be corrected for future exhibitions and to be checked if this problem only exists for the French version.
Seeing Rembrandt’s house was very interesting. The self guided audio tour gave a lot of good information. Some of the staircases were a little treacherous , steep and without a hand rail. This might make or break it for some people who have mobility issues. Otherwise, it was worth seeing.
Was very successful, recommended, nicely made
Both the permanent collection (Rembrandt's house) and the temporary exhibition with Rembrandt's etchings from his own collection are very worthwhile. Highly recommended.
Rembrandt the person and the artist is displayed. The staircases and multiple floors make you feel ancient coldness, fears and opportunities. The Rembrandt the Amsterdam resident attempting to survive feeling actually overcomes his amazing talent. This is a must see.
