A rua de 1.840 metros de comprimento (6.036 pés) que liga o coração de Paris ao prestigiado 8º arrondissement é conhecida por seu lado moderno. A praça foi construída em 1702 como um monumento à glória dos exércitos de Luís XIV, o Rei Sol. Mais tarde, foi substituída pela Coluna Vendôme, inspirada na Coluna de Trajano em Roma, para celebrar a vitória de Napoleão Bonaparte em Austerlitz em 1805. Hoje é bem conhecida pelas boutiques de luxo (joalheria).
A glamorosa Ópera Garnier foi encomendada pelo Imperador Napoleão III como parte do seu projeto de reconstrução de Paris. Para construir a nova Ópera de Paris, foi realizado em 1860 um concurso para o melhor design. A Ópera de Paris, outro nome do Palais Garnier, é há muito tempo um centro de excelência cultural. We had a wonderful experience with our guide across two different tours, and both were excellent. She was kind, engaging, and made everything enjoyable from start to finish. My family loves fashion and jewellery, so this was especially perfect for us. She shared fascinating insights and really brought the subject to life. We also learned a lot about Baron Haussmann and the 19th century, which added so much depth and context to what we were seeing. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an informative and enjoyable tour.
