We recently joined a stargazing tour on Rapa Nui, and it became one of the very best experiences of our entire trip. We started in a quiet, dark area by the sea. Tokerau, our wonderful and warm guide, shared the stories of how the Rapa Nui and other Polynesian navigators used the stars to navigate the Pacific, explaining how the sky changes with the seasons and direction you are travelling. Seeing planets, the moon, and constellations through the telescope was incredible, we could feel how much he loves his culture and the sky above it. Tokerau took out his guitar and sang a couple of traditional Rapa Nui songs passed down through generations. What an amazing experience! Later, at Anakena Beach, we took night photos with the moai. Standing beneath the stars with those ancient silhouettes and the Milky Way was surreal. The photos Tokerau took are magical reminders of a night we’ll never forget. This tour is so much more than stargazing — it’s culture, history and music. Tokerau made it extraordinary, and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Rapa Nui.

Toke is an amazing guide. He should be a singer, he has a great voice while singing traditional Rapa Nui songs. At the end, he takes awesome night photos of you in front of the moai 🗿 with the Milky Way behind you!

This was an amazing tour where we learned about the history of navigation as well as had use of a telescope to see planets, the moon, and stars! Totally worth booking! Tokerau took amazing photos of us with his camera and we are super pleased with how they turned out!

Fantastic experience from every point of view, they chose the best evening for us to see the stars, providing everything necessary to fully enjoy the experience, including blankets to protect us from the cold, hot drinks, and a buffet. The guide is experienced and loves his land, conveying so much enthusiasm to you! The experience also includes a photo shoot, and, wonderfully, also listening to typical Rapa Nui songs sung by the guide and accompanied by guitar :) highly recommended!
