Don’t book this. They never showed up to get us. Terrible communication. Booked 2 weeks in advance and communicated with Viator to make sure that we were on the local operators list. But if u do enjoy getting up at 5:30 am and waiting outside for over an hour and then getting compensated absolutely nothing then this is the tour for you!

So enjoyed this, you have to work for it but it’s absolutely worth it. The guides are amazing as well. So much fun!

AMAZING!!! 10/10 experience it was absolutely beautiful and so much fun! A must do if you’re visiting Costa Rica. Our guide Edwardo was super nice and helpful. Got us through the rapids safely and we still had so much fun!

We had the BEST time white water rafting. One of our favorite experiences while in Costa Rica. Andres was our guide and he was so fun and lively. We came from Puerto Viejo, the company picked us up directly from our hotel. It was about an hour and a half drive to the rafting place. We enjoyed breakfast and they had lockers to place our belongings. The rafting was so fun, be prepared to get absolutely soaked and to fully participate. It’s not a relaxing cruise down a river, you have to physically participate. It was an all day activity and at the end we were also fed lunch and able to change into a fresh pair of clothes. They then gave us a ride back to our hotel. We would definitely recommend this activity!!!

This was one of the most fun adventures ever! Our guide, Louise, was amazing! We had so much fun! It included breakfast & lunch. They picked us up from my hotel in San José and dropped me off at my new hotel in La Fortuna. I am 64, my husband 66. I have never been white water rafting, although he has been numerous times even though it had been 25+ years. Some of the rapids were a level 4, but honestly it was beyond fun!

Our terrific guide, Fernando, has rafted this river for 20 years, so you can have utmost confidence in him and your ability to navigate class 3 and 4 rapids! DO the 2day trip if you can- lots of time to swim in waterfalls, eat lunch on the beach, hang out at the lovely (but Spartan-think camping) remote Pacuare River Lodge. He cooks pretty well too!

Fernando is indeed solid — guides with that level of river time bring a lot of confidence to guests, especially on class III & IV. Glad you took advantage of the waterfalls and that overnight lodge experience — the remote setting is usually the highlight for many. What a fun filled day!!!! I want to say that although the drive to the river is about 2.5 hours, it does not feel that long. It is a pretty easy drive. The guides were all knowledgeable and friendly, but Roberto is something else! He made our trip unforgettable!!! Easy-going, funny, and so experienced on the water - he totally made our day!!!! He took care of everyone around him, whether on or off the boat! These trips are truly made by guides like Roberto. We are so thankful that we got to spend a day with him!!! Here is to many many more! Pura vida!

We had a great experience. Our guide Andres was excellent, funny and very informative. The breakfast and lunch provided were very tasty and the whole trip went smoothly and was very well-organized. Would highly recommend!
Very fun! It's worth it! The van picked us up at our hotel in Puerto Viejo and we traveled about 2 hours. Arriving there, they served a great breakfast. Soon afterwards we are taken to the river and one of the instructors was explaining the commands and safety instructions. Already in the river, the little start is a very easy part of practice, you will feel comfortable even if you have never done this activity. The first descents are exciting but as soon as you catch the way, the secret is to hold your feet tight in the kakaka va tennis boat for greater safety. The landscapes are stunning!!! The instructors all very good and fun, ah and also go 2 kayaks in case something happens. Finally they serve a well served lunch and the van takes us back to the hotels. Anyway, we love it!! I highly recommend!
What a fantastic trip, we only enjoyed four hours with a super smile on our face. Our captain Suce (ryan) was just GREAT. A lot of humor, a lot of info, a lot of positive feedback and most importantly...he guided us through all levels perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone! Another tip...we were in a hotel near Turrialba but the starting place of the rafting is a lot further south, where you can probably also be picked up by the organization.
