This was a fabulous tour in a beautiful location. We had a nice walk to the tea field and it was a lot of fun to pick the tea and then learn how to prepare it. The tea tasting was really interesting and we learned a lot. The lunch was also amazing - so much so that we asked for some of the recipes and the chef kindly shared them. The welcome snacks and tea were also delicious - and almost everything was made with tea! Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. This is a perfect day trip out of Nairobi.
Fabulous day out, beautiful location, really informative and the waterfall swimming a delight. Lunch was excellent and the ladies really knowledgeable and engaging.
The Gatura Farm purple Tea tour was excellent, once we got there. It was so interesting to learn how tea is picked and processed by this hands on experience. The 3 course gourmet lunch was fabulous. We also enjoyed a hike to a waterfall and a dip for those daring people. That said, we booked through African Authentic Safaris, Ltd and there was not good communiction. We were told to meet at a pick-up spot in Nairobi and an unidentified man came up to ask to ask if we were going on the tea tour. "James" told him to pick up 2 people for the tour. He mentioned the African Authentic Safaris, Ltd but he had no identification on his person or on his car. He did not know our names and "James" never mentioned to us a driver's name. He tried calling "James" but got no answer. It wasn't until we decided to risk it and we were on our way that "James" returned the call and we talked to him. I don't think this is a secure way to provide customer service. Our driver turned out to be a fine man. All is well that ends well.

I was really looking forward to this tour and met at the meeting place to find nobody else where. On contacting the company they advised they would make contact with the driver. I was told 45 mins later the tour was cancelled and would take place 5 days later. Very unprofessional as had I been told this on booking it I could have booked a tea or coffee tour elsewhere but instead it was too late to book another. Do not book if you are reliant on going on this tour

The place is beautiful with breathtaking views, tea plantations and banbus. The family and staff are very competent, nice, open and friendly. The tea class is fantastic. The service is perfect. The food is excellent. Fantastic.

An amazing purple tea farm tour in Nairobi, expertly organized and planned by African Authentic Safaris. One of our best holidays ever.
We used African Authentic Safaris to plan and manage our recent (September 2021) trip to Kenya. The trip was fantastic, and we are very pleased with the services they provide, our African Authentic Safaris representative. The climax of the trip was an add-on suggested that involved a visit to a purple tea farm with a specialty tea tasting session. We'll definitely use them again.
