Itinerário
Depois de dirigir cerca de uma hora e meia (o tempo depende da localização do seu hotel). Durante esta primeira etapa, falarei sobre a sucessão de acontecimentos que levaram a França à ocupação pelos nazistas em 1940. Falaremos então sobre as operações de planejamento e preparação para o desembarque de 6 de junho de 1944 e, finalmente, discutiremos as façanhas dos 225 homens do segundo batalhão de guardas florestais do Coronel Rudder.
Faremos uma parada no coração da praia de Omaha em Saint-Laurent sur mer, onde você poderá tirar algumas fotos e sugerirei alguns restaurantes para que você possa almoçar rapidamente antes de seguir para nossa próxima parada.
O cemitério americano de Colleville sur mer é o local mais visitado nas praias do desembarque. Faremos uma parada para ver, se desejar, um curta-metragem que homenageia alguns soldados que morreram em combate durante a Batalha da Normandia. Será também possível neste local visitar um pequeno museu comemorativo. Caminharemos então com respeito entre os 9.387 túmulos dos heróis que morreram para libertar a Europa.
Em Longues-sur-Mer podemos parar para ver as casmates que ainda albergam os canhões de 155 mm que fazem parte da famosa Muralha do Atlântico instalada na Europa pelos nazis a partir de 1942.
Faremos uma parada em Arromanches les Bains para ver os restos do porto artificial instalado pelos aliados nos primeiros dias do assalto. Aqui novamente explicarei a vocês o planejamento e instalação deste gigantesco local necessário para abastecer o exército Aliado.
Se desejar, retornaremos ao seu hotel pelas praias de desembarque do setor leste do assalto e assim poderemos cruzar a ponte Benouville rebatizada de ponte Pegasus em homenagem a um comando da sexta divisão aerotransportada britânica que heroicamente apreendeu o local na noite de 5 para 6 de junho de 1944. Em seguida, retornaremos ao seu hotel.

We had an amazing tour with Quentin. He arrived on time and we went from there! He was so knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. He toured us around and gave us ample time to explore. His video helped set the tone for the whole day. It was truly a moving experience that I will forever remember.

Gilles is a very knowledgeable and professional tour guide, that we highly recommend for tours of the Le Havre and Normandy area. His knowledge of the World Wars is outstanding, and he shared information in a very easily understood way. Our party of six was unanimous in our appreciation for a tour well done. His English was excellent, his car was first class, and he was onetime and delivered the tour just as promised. We've enjoyed several excellent private tours but this tour was by far one of the best.

I booked this tour long ago and was looking forward to it with great anticipation. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Giles and Marcus were wonderful and even brought buttery croissants along. I learned more history in one day than I did all throughout high school. Thank you for a great day.

Gilles and his team were absolutely amazing!!!! We had 8 people total and two very comfortable, clean, well stocked cars (food and beverages), that made our trip from the cruise port to Normandy very relaxing. Along the way, Gilles told us about the history leading up to the Normandy invasion which was so very informative, even as a HS History teacher myself! The other car was able to hear all the info as well due to his communication set up…it was wonderful!!! We stopped at the Point du Hoc first and received his guided tour along the way! After that, he arranged lunch for our group that was super delicious! Next stop was Omaha Beach, then the cemetery, the Mulberry Harbors and the Atlantic Wall, finishing off with the gun emplacements!!!! It was absolutely an amazing day!!!! I can’t tell you how highly I recommend this tour!!!! All 8 people in our group agreed that this was their favorite tour on our 2 week British Isle cruise!!!

Gilles is amazing. What a great person! Our train trip to Caen had an unexpected incident on the track which caused us to have to go back to LeHavre. He drove there and picked us up. He brought croissant for the whole family. He had a smile on his face and truly enjoyed the day with us. Very accommodating, very friendly. I would not tour with anyone else after this! Trusted with my whole family including a 10 year old and he did not disappoint! Cannot say enough nice things about the tour and how informative and fun it was. I got to go inside a German Gun emplacement and stand on the actual beach where it happened and look toward the shore. Bucket list items get checked off here. Life changing! Merci Gilles!

Our guide was Gilles and he was phenomenal! A very intelligent, friendly and caring person. He provided us with so much historical facts and information during our entire excursion.
